Villain is pretty new to the table, playing 36/21 so far, but that's not even close to relevant. He's been pretty active, taking down some smaller pots, no showdowns as of yet, but pretty aggro. He probably doesn't see me as too aggro as I've been doing nothing crazy.

I 3b flop because I figured there was a decent bit of air in his range and being this deep, I don't mind semibluffing, but I figured when he called flop (he snapcalled flop), he could be trapping with a big hand and I didn't wanna get shoved on at the turn.

At the river though, when he checks twice, that he rarely has a set, and with two overcards, it'd be really hard to call a big bet with an 8 or a 99 hand.. so I overbet. Bueno?

well you could play a set like that since u're not really afraid of him having diamonds, i don't hate it as long as you overbet for value too sometimes.... lol

I dunno. It looks bluffy. Most people wouldnt check behind turn with a big hand especially when deep, imo. At least not without a history.
But it sure is tough to call river for him in case he has like A8 or 99. Dunno, I would maybe do it vs a weakish player who folds often to big bets.

But tbh I think 99 or A9 is the very bottom of his range given the size of ur reraise on the flop and given u have no history with the player, so overall I dont like the bluff too much.

well if it worked its good

kinda agreed w/ mcnasty, our hand doesnt make all that much sense although we might have a set here sometimes

and if youre gonna overbet like this id rather just ship it in, since he only has 220 behind when u bet 1300 anyway

Hate your line but wtf can villian have that is going to call here...

I think it is actually ok because I doubt villian is a v good handreader or capable of calling down with 99-JJ A8s type hands...

in general I hate it though lol...just a really nice turn and river

I think almost anything that u 3-bet this flop with these stacks with , you would bet the turn with , if it was a made hand.. river bet looks like zomg this board came out awesome to bluff at.. 2 overcards to the board.. to add some extra fold equity lets make it an overbet..

i dont like it at all

I hate it for the many reasons stated above, but vs a random 1 tabling case money fish he's probably not reading your hand as much as reading his own, board came scary for a medium strengh hand in a fish's eyes (since they always put you on AK) so you have that working for oyu, but this is really fishy

I definitely dont think this is so terrible as some people think it seems. If villian is a 1-tabling random recreational fish, he will never herocall us with JJ here and he will rarely check twice with a big hand. Against a decent hand reader I think its credible that we can have both a set/KK/QQ. Yeah its the best possible turn and river to bluff on and thats just what it still is, I think we have plenty of foldequity here.

or maybe even....the ace king that caught a K

or perhaps? The king queen.

those hands are way more likely for you to have than the five six the ace three the ace five or the five three considering your raised pre, no?
