To respect capaneo's request that we don't talk about the Battle of the Alamo in his conspirecy theory thread, I decide to educate Devon in my own thread. Obviously this Canadian is confused about the Texas Revolutionary War, and thinks that i am stupid and if he loses 80% of his intellect, he is still smarter than some studpid redneck. This is where i shall correct all of this Canadian's mistakes in his argument, and reinforce my own arguments.

i apologize, i thought you were referring to the alamo as the greatest american battle ever. Reasons for this are pretty obvious - you say the most retarded things repeatedly, and well, you're an idiot. so yes, i really thought thats what you mean't. i'm sorry, i usually take idiots idiotic comments literally, just a habit i picked up through the years.

the "400 to 600 you talk about is the last charge Mexico made on March 6th, 1836. There were 5,000 mexicans who fought in the entire battle that began Feb. 23rd. They kept getting reinforced. We only had 32 people come from Gonzalez as reinforcements, and they killed every woman and child as well. And you say we "stole their land" which is COMPLETELY NOT TRUE. Texas was a state of Mexico, and Mexico wanted us to settle it so they PAID AMERICANS $600 and GAVE THEM LAND TO LIVE THERE. Then once we got there, they changed the laws and changed the states constitution because we were living there.

ohhh, so those 187 soldiers and volunteers who killed 400-600 mexicans in the battle when mexico re-took the alamo magically came back to life and defeated the rest of santa anna's army that happened on different occasions? silly me, when we were discussing the Battle of the Alamo, i thought we were discussing the umm, erm.. battle of the alamo? you know, the one where davy crockett surrendered and got executed? sorry, my mistake.
but WOWZERS. you Texans are great goddamned fighters!! 187 soldiers and volunteers took on 3000-5000 mexicans? thats like what, 21 mexicans killed for every american Freedom-Fighter! goddamn!! you guys rock!
why do i even waste time pointing out your stupidity? i really hope it doesn't dissaude you from posting in the future to be honest. i love reading your pearls of wisdom.
oh and fetic, lol. can't believe you're STILL upset just cuz k2o4 and i completely destroyed you in some debate we had ages ago. tbh, i dont even remember what it was, but i do remember how badly you got your panties in a bunch. classic bitterness <3

First off, the Battle of the Alamo began February 23rd, 1836. The battle ended on March 6th of the same year. That is 12 days of battle. Within these 12 days, a grand total of around 5,000 Mexicans attacked the alamo, but obviously not at the same time. During the 12 day battle, Mexico was slowly advancing, and sending waves of attacks to take over the Alamo, but all failed. Also, some Texans would go outside the walls and fight small skirmishes to weaken the numbers of the Mexican army. Over the 12 days, this is how 3,000 of the 5,000 Mexicans were killed. In total, the number is debatable, but the most agreed on number is 187 Texan Men were killed during this battle.
Devon tries to justify the actions taken by the Mexican Dictator Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna by saying that American settlers stole land from them. This is very far from what really happend. When Texas was a part of Mexico, it was a state of Mexico called "Coahuila y Tejas". As a state of Mexico, it had its own constitution as did all states of Mexico which stated laws, just like they still do today. Extremely desolate and unpopulated, Mexico was actually paying Americans to settle their land in Texas with $600 and 500 to 1,000 acres of land. After a few years, Santa Anna decided to abolish the constitution of Coahuila y Tejas, and put in a new constitution called the Anti-Federalist Constitution. This upset the Texans that they were promised money and land, and felt like they were backstabbed by the Mexican Government, and when they tried protesting and getting their voice heard, they were masacred at the Battle of Gonzalez. This prompted Texans to take arms and thusly, it began the Texas Revolutionary War.
Devon attacks my heritage and culture by saying things like "yee-haw lets go kill squirrels and eat squirrel soup". lol. Well, yes, thank you for the compliment. We are better marksman then Canadians, however I don't think we eat squirrels anymore. We did in the 1800's, but that has since stopped. I wish i could make fun of your traditions, but you haven't got any. The only positive contributions you've made to the world are Hockey, America's most unpopular sport, and Maple syrup. I guess by attacking my lifestyle i should be thankful that i actually have a lifestyle to be attacked. I find it a privilege that you would attack these characteristics of mine, shows that i actually have something to be proud of, that other people take notice of.
So i hear that some people have been banned for post's like these. I really don't think this is "ban worthy", but if it is, sorry for showing a bad image on LP. I have a lot of respect for most people on here, and i get along really well with most people...but being from Texas i just can't be "educated" by a Canadian on a battle in the Texas Revolutionary War... I just can't help but atleast correct your flaws. Especially after the personal verbal attacks. I take pride in myself, my culture and my state. I just couldn't let this one go by under the radar. Not too many Texans could. We know what courage and sacrific mean to us, and an insult like that by someone who is completely clueless and out of the picture just couldn't be left alone.
Thanks for your time

LOLOLOL really? thats how they teach the battle of Alamo to americans? hilarious stuff.
As a mexican i have a very different story, so id guess the truth is actually between those 2 stories.
One thing is certain (logic), 187 texans did not kill an army of over 2,000 men, the Texan insurrection was instigued by the American government and supported by them |

. The battle ended by 6:30 a.m.. Between five and seven Texians may have surrendered; if so, they were quickly executed on Santa Anna's orders. Most eyewitness accounts counted between 182 and 257 Texian dead, while most Alamo historians agree that 400–600 Mexicans were killed or wounded.
Source History....
btw theres a really good show on Discovery channel that re analizes the battles with modern technology. It also shows that the americans did not pull such an epic performance... Im american bu i admit when we lose, like in Nam
