Ok I'll ask you to ignore the result because I'm not trying to post a bad beat. I don't think I ever find a fold here but would you instead just flat on flop hoping to peel one and see the action of the several players behind you? I think that's probably optimal, getting it in on a safe turn card. What do you think?

Is that really a good idea to keep going when you see 3 diamonds on the flop and you have spades?

I like it when people make a note that they play stakes lower than the hand they are commenting on

sorry I have no advice for you except I think this is fine atleast against a shortstack..

I play nl25 tho

imo, really big spew to stack off in a limped pot (well, minraised, but same shit) with the 2nd nut straight, esp on a monotone board
you can't even draw to the nuts, and JQ has you beat, and there's a chance that people may have flopped flushes

1. Play 6max
2. 3bet the minraiser
3. Profit!

I play nl4 6max and I am proud of it!

I might be alone here but I really don't mind stacking off against a shortstack who will be firing with everything from Jx, Tx, and Adx, and is calling the raise with all of that too. If this is deeper then I try for a cheap showdown.

it's not that you're alone in sticking it in against a shortstack. it's more a question of all the people behind you

wtf just because he is a shortstack doesn't mean he has to be retarded about what hands he stacks off with postflop, esp in a FR game. I definitely don't think this is a good spot to be stacking off, because jamming the pot will only fold out hands that you beat other than maybe sets, and they don't make up enough of the villains' overall ranges to justify it. All raising does is try to bluff the people behind you out of the pot so you can get HU with a SS that will probably end up showing up with a range that is ahead of your hand anyway. I definitely do not like a raise here, and I would want to see what the other people behind me do first, and maybe see what happens on a safe turn. Even then being OOP on this board makes the hand very hard to play even if the turn IS a safe card. The spot you are in sucks but I can never find a raise here...probably a flatcall most of the time and reeval turn.
