(Don't even know if this is the right spot to post, maybe instead in Main Poker forum?)
The reasoning is cause you're at worst a flip against all but AA/KK?
When is the right time to take flips? I think I'm not placing as well as I could in tournaments because I am taking flips with high cards like AK at the wrong time, or maybe I just suck at flipping.
I make in the money quite often enough, but I almost never finish deep, and I really believe it's cause I don't know when to take my flips.
Advice to an aspiring donkament donkey? |

when you push AK you aren't taking a flip, because your opponent may have a hand that you have dominated |

when u talk about shove > call you gotta atleast think about the fold equity and how much that wins you compared to check folding dry flops
anyway its not always a shove cause you can be deep in the earlier levels of a tournament, but later on it has to be rare not shoving KA |

People shove lots of crap in tournaments to steal blinds/ante which is why AK is cool to shove in tournies rather compared to cash games, people shove any ace, KQ/KJ/KT/QJ etc. |

There really isn't a set anser to this question because it depends on the situation and a bunch of different factors. |
