Hi guys, I dont know where to start, but I feel Im gonna need some kind of a stake some time (next year maybe). Im planning to move my bankroll to investments, loans, stocks and a project with a software (cant talk about this right now ). I know that the transitions from Poker to investments are not done in a few days, but I want to be prepared for it in the future. I want to know how being staked works and establish confidence with a player who wants to stake me for a reasonable game. Or better yet I want to be recognized as a good horse in a known comunity to open up my posibilities.
My ideas are tournaments becouse are easy to verify results and you can send $T, but if you know a good cash game stake plan let me know.
Here's some of my profile actually if you're interested:
games played: PLO400 6m, NL400 6m, NL100 and PLO100 HU, $50 tournaments (I played bigger but only as shots)
performance: ~4/100 for PLO 6m (without table selection) and ~3/100 for NLHE 6m (with table and seat selection)
sites I can play: Empire Poker, Stars, FT (like stars the most)
Poker profits: ~40K (my online bankroll is like 27K due to cashouts, and decreasing)
Years playing: Since December 2005 from freerolls
Dedication: average 20 days a month, 2-4 hs 4-6 tabling (up to 9 if Im inspired)
Education: 6 months CR member, 2 years lp member, and obv experience, books and articles
Any suggestions, offers or comments post them here or PM me
Thanks
-Mauro J.

You ask for a tourney stake but yet you don't post your ROI or results. |

You should consider leaving urself with some bankroll as an investment as well.
Unless you want the stake for other reasons like you dont feel comfortable playing for your own money or whatever I dunno, you definately shouldnt want to be staked especially if you are a proven winning player at NL 2/4 like you said. |

No offense but this kind of just sounds like you want to have your stake and eat it too. If you really need to remove all your money from poker in order to proceed with these investments then what you're really asking for is a loan.
Edit: This of course doesn't mean that you can't set up a stake in which you will make yourself and your backer profit while having enough capital to do your investments at the same time. This relationship could work but I would think it would be appropriate given your circumstances to arrange for some sort of re-payment of the stake in the unlikely event that you lose the staking money. Up to 50% or so.

if you are a winning poker player its probably the best investment you can make with 25 - 30k |
|
| Poker is a lot like sex, you can get 1.5 million hands in and still end up a loser | |

Yes, I considered about using only half for investments, but I want to see how a different thing works, make some calculations and reevaluate later. It is very likely that Im gonna play with my own money always, but I want to have more options avalaible as a backup. |
