Don't need to make fancy plays just continue your aggression.
You yourself say this is a drawy [flop] so why are you betting it so small?
Bet flop at least 3.25. And where does he 3bet you? |

sounds like you're leveling yourself with the small flop bet... he's gonna be raising this flop all day with a strong made hands (assuming you're right about his competency), and you're expecting he's gonna do the same thing with a bluff. so, your bet doesn't give you any information at all and basically levels you into shipping against everything that beats you... how does that seem like a good idea?
i'd bet the flop for 3+, and probably fold to aggression from the reg or ship against the short stack. when the turn comes with Ah, that's like the greatest thing possible so i'm betting 3/4pot+ and then i'm shipping good rivers. i think you're miles ahead of his range which could (depending on his actual level of competency) include everything from smaller sets, two pair, OESD, flush draws, pair + OESD and basically everything in the airball category. the only hand that beats you is like 68s or something. the common theme in my assessment of his range are DRAWS and underrepresented made hands that you beat.
you tried to get him to raise you on the flop and you didn't succeed, and now you're trying to c/r him on this turn... i mean are you ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that his line is DEFINITELY a straight/flush draw or airball that is ALSO going to be betting this turn card if you check to him, and that he won't a) check behind with a draw or b) fold a bunch of weaker made hands to your c/r that you otherwise might have stacked if you'd just continued leading? if the answer is no, then your play here is straight forward. |

i think if i check-raised in this hand it would be on the river since my river betting range heavily includes Ax or better while villains range after the turn includes missed draws and Tx type hands (and maybe Ax like A8 or Axss but he might raise NFD on the flop) and you're probably not going to get called by Tx that much if you bet river but if the guy's aggro enough he will try to win the pot after he misses his draw by bluffing. i mean yeah the ace turn is the best card to double barrel bluff on for you so he's gotta think that there's some value in bluffing when you check to him on the river, if he was drawing. since you don't get called by much when you bet river anyways, i think it's better to just let him bluff the river. i like a head-explosion bet like 1/6 pot... that's sexy.
on the turn though i just have to bet here because ldo you can't let him draw for free and the ace is like the most obvious bluff card so a thinking player would perhaps call down with hands like Tx. |

not enough people gonna get really aggro with some kinda draw all of a sudden. but plenty of people gonna call without many outs |
