1st hand is a coinflip imo
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 49.495% 46.59% 02.90% 738 46.00 { AcAh }
Hand 1: 50.505% 47.60% 02.90% 754 46.00 { 99+, AQs+, AQo+ }
And as such imo completely villian dependant. Id shut down vs an unknown.
2nd hand the nittiest of the nits at NL50 bet out often in 3bet pots on this flop cos they expect you to fold down QQ JJ KK, especially if they actually have AQ. AK is even twice more likely. |

hand 1 i probably check the flop, you're oop and uncomfortable getting it in so just try keep the pot small imo |

hand #1 is just the definition of gay. Shoving here is never terrible because you have like 40% equity against a very pesimistic range. The biggest problem I feel, is that to a random 50nl player a shove on the turn is going to look like AK and AK only, meaning he will usually crycall with the hands that do very well against you(meaning sets) and sometimes correctly fold hands like KQ or even KK.
I think I like a check best actually, if villian shoves you can pretty safely fold imo and if he checks you can bet or check/snapcall the river depending on his timing. Playing readless and oop just sucks, no options are really sexy.
hand #2 is a VERY clear supersnapstackoff no question. You should be fistpumping this shit all day |

Thanks guys
I did fistpump hand #2 till he showed 99, and then I second guessed myself. Glad to see I played it right =)
Hand #1 is so meh... saki, so you're saying that the flop bet was right and now it's time to check and maybe check/fold? |

Yes, I like betting flop. It keeps your opponent honest and just makes the hand easier to play overall because if you check and he bets you sorta have to call but then you do what on the turn? c/f? c/c? its just a terribly lame spot to be in. And yeah, you can probably check/fold to a decent bet on the turn, most hands you beat will gladly take a free river and I dont think many 50nl players are capable of jamming worse on the turn as a bluff/semibluff. |

I would check hand 1 on the turn and also lead flop, you may get a cheap showdown against the holdings that have you crushed because he's afraid of AK and i would try to get to that showdown relatively cheap it will be very hard to extract more value from AQ/KK anyway. If he checks the turn i would probably bet a blank river and fold to a shove, if he bets turn i would fold readless.
hand 2 i would ship it in asap.

I've been having alot of trouble in these kind of spots and am still trying to sort it out. There was a hand in another thread that looked similar to me in the sense that "we" have the nuts vs anything except a straight or a flush. In the other thread Myth makes the case that a bet in that spot is a leak and check/fold would be the best action. Is there a distinction between the two spots? Is that a style issue? |
