I either made a really good play or really stupid play. Please break it down for me.

Both villains have VPIP of over 50, PF of around 15, and AF of about 2. The turn made me kinda sick knowing the type of players the villains are. I thought that a flush or straight was a good possibility. I folded pretty quickly when he shoved on the river because I thought that a bluff shove on the river from that kind of villain was uncommon. Like I said, either I made a really good move or I fucked up big time.

You will never know by checking.

raise bigger on the flop, to like $6. you're not really trying to let 2 people call for cheap and profitably draw against you. plus, they're not gonna "get scared away" and fold if you make it more...people make big mistakes, so let them make big mistakes and maximize your profit by raising big on a spot like this.

as played, check/call turn and check/fold river is probably correct

don't think like this. if you are putting money into the pot just so you can "know," it's gonna be a really big leak. there are two reasons why:

1. you never "know" anyway. whether you bet or check people are going to do things that you aren't certain how to interpret. so the certainty that you gain by betting relative to checking isn't all that huge anyway.
2. the fact that you checked doesn't mean that people are willing to do any crazy play you can conceive. in fact, almost 100% of people are pretty much incapable of a lot of plays, such as making a big bluff in a certain spot or value betting very thin. so you actually gain pretty clear information (once you have enough experience and knowledge to make such reads) from just checking and seeing what your opponent does.

don't let yourself get into the habit of wanting to be more sure of where you stand. it's a really bad habit. you have to deal with a ton of uncertainty and do a lot of studying to be able to make good decisions despite having little concrete information. it requires experience, intuition, and deduction.

i was TeCh)Teck btw. welcome

1. It's okay to lead out multiway. Check/raise is also fine, but what happens if they check behind? (very possible multiway since people tend to play more cautiously).
2. Your flop raise sucks. You want to pump it up way more ESPECIALLY when there's a cold caller.
