my first shot at NL25 yesterday didnt work out very well. i think i was playing too weak tight and my non showdown winnings was about -2 BI over 800 hands. i kept running cbets into flop or turn raises and felt really dirty folding TPTK or overpairs to extremely ugly boards. Im not sure if im just too weak like being preflop raiser and checking the flop and rarely cc or cR

I tried to play more aggressive today and lost quite a bit..

only 50 hands on villain , 40/13, he's definitely capable of flatting a jack
earlier, he limped AQ in the SB in blind v blind and cc'd 2 streets and bet river with flopped A and ownd my AT

i think i have NL10 pretty much figured out, other than a 8.5 BI downswing when i was running like crap i can beat it at 10ptbb/100 over 25k hands

any advice for moving to NL25?

i'd probly check turn, AK really isn't as sexy as it looks here and probly unlikely to get 3 streets of value esp. if he called your flop bet with Kx.

Wow, I less and less point in discussing hands so superficially. Fuckin can't learn nothing like this.

What if he's a donk floating with an A?
What if he puts you on Kx and then sees JJ and A on board as a chance to scare you off.

Any ace might play that, any K might play that.

I seriously need to pay a decent coach to teach me some serious ABC poker theory. My mind is a mess.

Have an opinion about what I said? please say it

rather check than bet/fold

nite if you check turn, u can vbet river easy or call if he leads into you. the chances of him checkraising with a better is quite unlikely, and the only bad cards to come on river are 10s and Qs.

either way, checking turn lets you get to showdown nearly 100% of the time, in the rare event he check-raises river well you just gna have to give him credit for a big hand and say 'wp donk' and fold.

and don't fear heart rivers, odds of him having some kind of backdoor heart draw is quite unlikely.

so i guess the consensus is im beat almost every time?
what if i was check raised on the flop? i assume anything that beats me on the flop has me beat on the turn right?

Not necessarily - just saying that once your flop bet is called on a board like this with a donk of this proportion your hand aint so strong so checking behind him on the turn gives you a cheaper way of getting to the showdown and you dont have to make the difficult decision that you are left with at this point.

NL1K is only ever one drink away......

id call and fold to a strong bet on the river
tho there r only 2 possibilities here
he s either having Jx or overlpaying an ace
