I’m a new player just trying to learn about the game and I’d love to become a pro. There’s a show on TV ‘How to become a poker Millionaire’ that’s all about the skills you need to become a pro the you tube link is
what do you guys think? It seems really interesting apparently they will interview a different pro each week, next week it’s Brian Townsend and then Phil Ivey and Devilfish in Bobby’s room the Bellagio. They say that one of the novices will become a pro after four weeks and get a seat at the WSOP.
Well, there really isn't anything earthshattering delivered in this video.
In fact Devilfish says, "one of the most important things in poker is choosing good starting hands". I tend to disagree: it's the EASIEST thing to learn, but not necessarily the most important (having said that, it is certainly important). Also, I think his range of starting hands is too loose, when I began I was playing extremely tight.
I did get a nice kick when I saw rainkahn, up until then the show was pretty 'meh' except for hearing about the guy who plays 5/10 as his source of income.
