Villain is a regular. We are deep, so I just called to set mine. My read is that if he had a strong hand like KK/AA, he would have check-raised flop or bet river. Here looks like he has QQ/JJ at best, a hand that is scared of both overpairs and set/straight. He is just not playing like someone who is looking to get value out of his hand, and this board is scary. From his point of view, if he has QQ, he beats JJ only, and if he has JJ, he beats nothing. Slowplayed AA/KK are possible, but really not likely. So who likes this bet?

he beats bluffs, AA KK are basically the same as QQ JJ on this board and therefore should be viewed similarly in your read, your hand makes no sense as a monster unless you have 99, your flop bluff is WAY too small, you have no reason not to keep betting the turn if you want value.....

i mean nothing about what you're doing makes me believe he will want to fold A9

holdings that you don't win against in a checked through showdown will probably also call your river bet.

something weaker then your holding will usually not call your riverbet.

i agree with myth that the flop bet is small. but if it usually works good for you, i have no problems with it. (it doesn't work for me; if i don't pot, they don't fold)

sunhunter is a 50NL reg... and yeah he is a giant nit.

But i know he 3-bets very wide range in position pf, if he thinks you are way too aggressive pf. Were you raising too many hands?

if you're repping a set shouldn't you be firing a lot more on the flop? I mean if i have 66 i'm not making some itty bitty bet.

"From his point of view, if he has QQ, he beats JJ only, and if he has JJ, he beats nothing."

You fail to understand his point of view, if he has these hands he is pot controlling. By the river he has he successfully pot controlled the hand? (yes) therefore if he has any pair he is never folding to anything under a pot sized bet. To find this mythical fold equity you must venture into the overbet realm
