Villain seemed fairly solid 24/18. saw him bet/3bet, bet, bet all 3 streets with top 2 pair/turned house on an earlier hand for max value

I felt the c/r on the paired flop could have been with a pretty wide range of hands and calling the flop was the best action (i didnt want to face a 4bet if i 3bet).

i was planning to call a small bet on the turn, fold to a near pot size bet, and obviously raise a Q or K. if checked to, i was planning to check behind and call any bet on the river expecting to see a lower pocket pair / missed flush draw. if checked to on the river, i planned to vbet around $5.

Q1: is checking behind on this turn with the thinking above, ok? or should i see that as a massive sign of weakness and bet any turn that's checked to me?
Q2: he overbet the river. is this still a call?

Pretty weird hand, I think a call on the flop check/raise is a good play as his range is very wide, I would say Q-x, A-x spades, 44-99, and sometimes a 3. I really think the Ace is a really good turn card for you though and you should always be betting it to see exactly where your at so you dont put yourself in the spot you are in on this river. IF you bet the turn, and really most bets will let you find out where you are, you avoid the player betting a missed flush draw on the river because he will think you at least have A-K or a Queen.

As played I would expect him to either have the nuts or a weak pair turned ito a bluff He really can just be betting any two because he knows you dont have a Queen or an Ace with your check on the turn and if you had a flush draw yourself you missed. I would probably snap call the river bet with this in mind and expect to see a PP or a 3 lol but most likely they would have the nuts and I would say I played that awful.

pretty easy call imo, if you think his check raise range is wide enough why you folding turn to a pot size bet? if he is able check/raise with a wide range, propably hes gonna 2nd barrel here all the time, and Ace is a perfect card for him 2 do it, but he didnt and you checked behind and i like it as you played

i would fold, unless in the hand you described earlier his vbet line was consistently a 2/3 pot or something. If he pots for value I fold here.

also snapfold it looks like he has trips or better here and he is hoping that ace hit you

the odds hes giving me here would be my main reason for snapfolding; against players at these limits i know i can get my money in a better spot than KK for a 1:1 call on QQAxx board, i guess?

i fold to that pot size 2nd barrel simply because if it was me firing, i would fire more like 2/3 pot if my hand wasnt so strong, and nearer pot otherwise

interesting so many people have said snap fold, but i'm pleased there are mixed responses

river is not an overbet

given the ace is a great card to continue bluffing on and he checks, and then pots river this should usually be a pretty easy fold

i could def see him playing A-x or Q-x by flatting pf maybe AJ or something. but regardless both an A or Q have you beat, so i'm thinking good fold.

You have to ask yourself if a QQ3 suited flop is good enough to get KK allin. To me, it is. How should you look to get the money in? The best way is to raise again on the flop to about ~12. You don't give freecards to twoouters that are valueraising worse (JJ TT 99) or free cards for flushdraws and we are not thrilled about an ace on the turn or river either. Taking the pot down on the flop here is fine aswell.

"i was planning to call a small bet on the turn, fold to a near pot size bet, and obviously raise a Q or K. if checked to, i was planning to check behind and call any bet on the river expecting to see a lower pocket pair / missed flush draw. if checked to on the river, i planned to vbet around $5."

This is very conservative. I suggest you play your very good hands agressively when you are comfortable you have the best hand against the vast majority of his range.

~end ramble~
