100 players total in the tournament devided in two days - 1a and 1b
from day 1a - 17 players left

I am playing day 2.
15k starting chips 1 hour levels
I only show 2 hands and they were AA and KK
and one guy with 9k stack call my 3 bet 2k(on blinds 50-100) pf with 96 and crack my aces on 949 flop
after 1 hour comes this situation :

I had 13k in chips at the end of level 3 , blinds 100-200. Next level is 150-300 with 25 ante.
Everybody folds to me on the button and
I picked up Kd9h , and raised to 650.
The small blind called (16.5k stack) -- The flop came 6c7c8d, sb check and I cbet 1450
he waits for 2-3 second and re-raise me to 3400
I looked at him and say " did u hit your set ? "
and he respond to me with "I dont remember" I wait 10-15 sec and say
"u don`t remember? what is this set of sevens ? and move allin for 9k more

I thought that he is raising me so small because he wants to left himself fold option (with 12.5k chips)
I knew that this player is capable of check-raising me light and that he will not risk his tournament on a draw.
So my question is: is my play bad ?

If you know hes capable of check-raising you light then I would have checked behind

some really important points:

1. "i know he's capable of raising light but he's not going to risk his tournament on a draw" - this just isn't true. people get pot committed with draws, that's all there is to it. also, he has you covered, so he's not "risking his tournament" either way.
2. talking and then shoving like this is just terrible if you want him to fold. you're challenging him. when people feel like their pride is also at stake (not just their chips), they fold less.
3. the fact that he check/raises small does not necessarily mean that he wants to be able to fold. it often means he doesn't want YOU to be able to fold. it also often means that his hand is so strong that he didn't even think carefully about his raise size (which is extremely common).
4. there are TONS of hands that have you beaten on this board. even if you think he'll fold draws, he is still gonna have you beaten like 80% of the time. it's not really possible for him to have you beaten less, just because of the board texture.

this is a really bad shove and because the flop is SO coordinated and you know this player can check/raise a lot of hands, you should check behind on the flop. if you don't hit the turn, give up

also your "tight image" is meaningless here, and, in fact, probably means he is even less likely to be bluffing you and far MORE likely to snapcall your shove. i mean, so far it looks like you always have AA, so if he hits the flop really big he's often just going to get really excited and check/raise assuming you'll have a big hand and he'll crack you.
