New hidden options, FTP

Since I replied in a thread a month ago mentioning that FTP has recently built in hidden options for advanced mousewheel + slider functionality, I've gotten a couple of PMs asking for more information. Instead of responding to everyone individually and in case others want to know about this, I'm starting a new thread.

Basically in an update a month ago FTP programmed in some hidden options controlling mousewheel controls (ie scroll mouse up, raise the bet by one big blind, opposite for scroll down), and they also added options for changing how the slider works. These changes are really off the cuff and so there is no graphical drop down menu for them in the FTP lobby, but they are officially supported and replace a couple of AHK scripts some people are using. Anyway FTP programmed the ability to change the mousewheel/slider functionality into the registry, as FTPDoug (official rep.) explains here (from 2p2):

One of our programmers managed to sneak a few changes to the bet slider into this most recent update. We didn't have time to make nice options out of it, but if you'd like to try it out, instructions are below. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: These instructions will be suggesting registry changes. If you don't know what you're doing you can seriously mess up your system. My suggestion is don't do the below unless you're confident it won't melt your computer and/or kill your dog. Here are his notes: "To activate the mouse wheel / bet slider functionality (where you can control the bet slider with your mouse wheel): HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareFull Tilt PokerTableView REG_DWORD SliderWheel 1 I have also implemented 3 different slider algorithms for deciding how to map a bet amount to a slider position, and vice versa: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareFull Tilt PokerTableView REG_DWORD SliderMode {0,1,2} SliderMode = 0, is the "classic" mode, i.e. the same old mapping. This divides the slider in two equal halves with linear interpolation on each half around the pot-size as fulcrum. Lame. SliderMode = 1 is a pure linear slider from 0% = min to 100% = max. This is what most sites use. SliderMode = 2 is my favored algorithm. It is borrowing the same logic as the slider algorithm from Poker Academy Pro. It uses a logarithmic scale, so that moving the slider at the start is less sensitive, but as you move it towards 100%, the amount increases exponentially. And finally: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareFull Tilt PokerTableView REG_DWORD SliderClick 1 In the regular slider, clicking anywhere on the slider instantly moves the slider nub to the spot clicked. With SliderClick active, clicking to the right of the nub increments the amount by a big blind, and clicking on the slider to the left of the nub decrements the amount. Clicking and dragging the nub still works as before." So give the various options a try and let us know which you like. It's likely we'll just offer all possibilities as options anyway, but some idea of what you guys prefer would help us choose what the default settings should be. Doug

edit: Some of the backslashes disappeared in the registry locations written by FTPDoug when I quoted them from 2p2 -> LP. Check the 2p2 thread if you can't figure out where the slashes go.

If you are running Windows go Start Menu -> Run -> type in "regedit" without the quotes, press OK. Then you'll have to go through the registry, editing the values that you want as directed by the quoted section in the first post of this thread.

now if they only certified and posted there rng audits and certification then it might be fully complete. I know, there rng is fine blah blah..no site would ever cheat..superuser cmon

problem is that if there was a superuser on FTP it is very unlikely we will ever EVER find out about it

and why is that?

im thinking that since it seems to be ok that ftp doesnt post there rng and certification that i should be able to go into a bank get a loan without running a credit report..am i right

Someone please help me to return it to how it was. I really hate the slider after Flop.
