Is it possible to have a 30 inch monitor(samsung 305T) at like 2560x1800 resolution instead of 2560x1600? has anyone ever done this? could it ruin monitor? |

i havent tried that but if it would work im guessing it would be easier done on crt monitors, they are way more flexible in terms of parameters than lcds
oh and it wont work on higher resolutions than maximum res for the given monitor, its has to be downsized |

If you find the right drivers for your video card you can sometimes get different resolutions than what your standard is. Shouldn't hurt it IMO. |

Your display has exactly 2560x1600 physical pixels, it can emulate lower resolutions by sort of stretching the image (and blurring it in the process) but haven't heard of emulating a higher resolution yet... there's no way to REALLY see 1800 pixels vertical when you have just 1600 physical pixels, it would be an approximation with losses |

im not sure if u can, but i think u have to use the nativeresolution or it will look kind of noobish with overlapping pixels or smethin |

havent seen a graphics card that supports > 2560x1600 |

But there are some monitors with higher than 2560x1600 (full HD) resolution.
For example this one supports up to 3840x2400. |
