Ive chiped up from 90k to 170k w/o a showdown, then lost few chips when eaten by blinds. Im in 13/25 and basically I have a tight agressive image and I havent been caught on any bluff.
Villain has made some stupid bets imo earlier like showing for 100k @ 2.5/5k UTG (no one calls him), shoving for 90k on the CO w/ AT @ 2.5/5k (which is kinda overshove imo). But Ive never seen him 3betting.

What is my play here?

There's 12k in the middle, i dont think his bets are stupid; especially the A10 hand - shoving is much better than raising. If you raise to 14k for example blinds now have huge incentive and good odds to reraise allin with any 2 live cards. They simply put you on a steal (any 2) and hope you fold to their shove - even if you call they are still in decent shape.

70k in the middle, 25k to call & you have position - when unsure let pot odds decide
good chance he has a pair smaller than Q's
I call & hit the flop

Calling is not an option imo. Just shove or fold.

looks like he prefers to just jam it in when he has marginal hands

because of that i guess you can find a fold and continue chipping up

otherwise i rarely fold AQ in a spot like this, though i would vastly prefer to be the one shoving

Eh, I can go a few more orbits in life, before taxes blind me out - PoorUser

How is calling not an option? you are getting 3:1 on your money in position. your M changes from 10 to 8 with a call. I don't see why you dismiss calling so quickly.

calling is really, really, really bad with these stack sizes.

You are getting bad reverse implied odds, never really sure where you are and its just going to put you in so many shitty spots where you will kick yourself. Not to mention you lose a good amount of your resteal stack when you call.

In this tournament I think this is a fold bc the field is really bad and I don't give ppl credit for being smart enough to resteal on you unless I know them.

As BigRed said you dont have a stack for that. I would call if we were like 250k deep at least, but not w/ 135k stack, because after my call he is shoving any flop.

I fucked this hand up. I didnt think about all situation but just shove after 3-5 sec (probably I was kinda thrilled that I could made two FT's in a row - the day before I finished 4th). Now, when I put this into a stove:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 38.938% 30.40% 08.54% 26544795 7458405.00 { AhQh }
Hand 1: 61.062% 52.52% 08.54% 45865899 7458405.00 { 99+, AQs+, AQo+ }

And I think that this range is too loose even (but still Im a dog).

After my shove, he snapcalled w/ AK and win a race lolz.

there is so much wrong with this post

shoving 90k at 2.5/5k in the cutoff is so unbelievably bad with any cards, let alone AT. YOU ARE NEVER GETTING CALLED UNLESS YOU'RE DESTROYED. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.

the only way this is possibly okay is if its folded around, and the three stacks behind him are all at 10bb or under. even so its still dumb.

and anyway, if you make it 14k with AT and you know the blinds are shoving any 2, you stick the chips in the middle when they do, and snap their neck in half and collect the pot.

I'd fold. especially seeing as he just pushes a10 for 18x bb, this makes me think he has ak+ this hand.

I don't get whats SO bad about shoving 18bb with A10 in the CO.

I feel that raising in late position you get put on a bluff quite often. The blinds are capable of shoving very light in these kind of situations getting great odds that A) its a flip vs. their Kx, Ax, Qx, Jx or small PP B) you fold because you are on air

(Lets not forget that there is now 40k in the pot and co could be willing to let the hand go)

In order to call your allin they will need a premium hand; even if they do call you are in decent shape most of the time.

I think you get outplayed in these kinds of situations way too often for me to be comfortable with a pot-sized raise.

The other option is that your pot-sized raise gets called by some low connecting cards or some other junk. I puke if i ever get called in these kinds of situations becuase you are practically playing the hand blind and have no idea what the right way to proceed is.

I would really like to hear a good argument for why this is such a bad play other than: NEVER DO IT!

if you push a10 with 18x bb you will NEVER be called by a worse hand.
if you raise with a10 and call a push, you will often have the best hand because people can be restealing with all kinds of crap. so there's not really anything wrong with going allin with a10 with 18x bb from the CO (although against some players you should certainly fold to a push after you raise), however simply pushing instead of raise/calling just makes you dominated every time you get action.

the only advantage pushing has is that you can actually fold out aj, while if you raise, aj is gonna push you. but pushing folds out so many hands that will push your range that you beat.
