2) day 1A was 1,297 entries, that's all the information available at the moment. All day 1 (A, B, C and D) have a maximum of 3000 players, I guess day 1D will be the most popular. So maybe like 1300 at 1A, 1400 1B, 2000 1C and 3000 1D or something. But that's just me guessing. The current record is still 8,773, last year had 6,358 entrants, but I guess it's gonna be something in between.
I'm not going to watch it now the final table is so much later, that totally sucks. I don't see how they think to improve ratings on this, lots people will already have forgotten about the entire WSOP, so they need to advertise again. From a game's perspective, anyone at the final table will now need to do research on the other players there as everyone will do so. Boring...

OBV not, ESPN is going to air the Main Event and when the episodes reach the final table its going to be another 2 weeks untill the live FT. Since poker is best watched sport in usa this will be a monster hit. Hopefully for Harrahs and ESPN someone famous is on that table.
I don't know why people complain. In the end there will probably be about 4 people who this late airing of the final table harms, if that many pros make it there. For the rest of us ESPN will be giving us 3 months of advertising and fish.
It does wreck the purity of the spectacle though, like Federer and Nadal coming back in a couple of months for the fifth set.
