a little too tricky

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

I think he may well get away from AK preflop alot of the times. Sure, he might get it in with QQ but against a range consisting mainly of AA/KK/QQ its meh when he always gets it in with AA/KK but can get away from QQ.

I had a really bad feeling about raising the flop but looking at it now I think raising is the best play for sure.

well first thing that came to my head when I read this and before when I thought about what you wrote in the OP, I thought that "yuck something must not be right if KK can't be conidently played for stacks pre here or on the Flop" but that could just be a reflection of my personal style influencing my perspective on hands posted by others. This is gonna sound RIDIC but think about it - given the line you took pre and then took post, I prefer folding to calling the 4-bet..

I vastly prefer calling the 4bet to folding.

Well I can assure you I play a very loose and agressive style hu but in this match there are several reasons why getting KK in is bad imo.

1. Pinball was playing very solid and tightish, not seemingly affected by me pounding on him.

2. Pinball is a very smart player, he knows that I will not 4-bet get in jacks or queens here for value 2 buyins deeep just because I raise alot of buttons or 3-bet alot preflop.

3. Its Pinballs first 4-bet in a match that hasnt been splashy at all, I dont think he would even consider a 5-bet from me to be a bluff mainly because I am having momentum and he is showing no frustration so theres really no reason for me to 5-bet.

And folding seems very dumb though. I still think he 4-bets a somewhat wide range, I just think its very polarized.

All in all, I think I should have just taken my cooler on the flop incase I was beat because I think he will think it to be more likely for me to call, see a flop and bluff than me bluffing preflop.

obviously folding to the 4-bet seems/is dumb, I was trying to get the point across of how if you call the 4-bet (which is obvvvvvvvvvvvvviously superior to folding) that then going on to not c/r this Flop is madness

what? ket and i agree that you can definitely just 5bet and get it in pre

we also check/shove the flop as played...terrible flop, good one for him to get it in against you with tons of hands that have like 45% or less equity...get it in for sure

sorry i'm not part of the LP fanboi club, i'm sure my comment was far less insightful than pooruser's.

i'd appreciate it if you could keep the flaming to yourself in the future, or at least let it remain equal opportunity. i know i'm bad at poker and everything but i think my presence here has some value.

flat calling that flop wtf.. thats like suicide.. its as if you didnt read the flop properly
im guessing because you were playing pinball.. you knew before that you had to play tricky and just got carried away with this hand by trying to be TOO TRICKY (or just in the heat of the moment because you had kings in a 4 bet pot preflop.. sometimes HU you can just click buttons to fast..). and check calling the flop.. so with that error.. turn is a fold IMO

My girlfriend started blowing me and then she stopped, I went on tilt and donkey punched her.Last edit: 01/07/2008 19:13
