i think check call river is fine cuz u get value from miss fd
and becouse u are deep i will only call river

probably i bet 7.5 on flop vs 2 people and bet 20 into 23$ on turn

at NL50 people do this with sets but also with AQ/AJ and even A10 at NL50.

He doesn't have a straight so i don't mind a call here. I think you played fine.

Fold this at fullring, his range is exactly a set.

Passive 19/7 is gonna have same range here, be it nl50 or nl200. "oh yeah i call this because we are at nl50 and everyone has random shit" is so false imo.

I can post tons of hands of myself at full ring from NL50 and NL100 of people calling down with A10 in this situation. I've stacked people on a daily basis at NL50/NL100 FR with overpairs and sets when they held stuff like K9o on a 239 board. I'm not arguing a set is in his range, but this is from personal experience from NL50-100 FR for 25$ in this 50$ pot i call and i'm happy.

call

You should never tell someone they have cute dimples. Maybe they were shot in the face with a BB gun

problem with c/c river as i see it is this.

The guy is passive

option 1 bet river

If you bet 3 streets you get value from Ax. If he has a set he is dumb for not raising it earlier in the hand 2 buyins deep but he might and in that case fold to his river shove after betting half pot or whatever yourself.

option 2 check call river

If you c/c you probably don't get value from a weaker Ax as a lot of those hands may check behind and he probably doesn't bluff (AF is .76 with a tight preflop range which means he doesn't bet or raise much). You just allow yourself to get valuetowned when he slowplayed a set to the river.

Option 3 c/f river

Pretty weak

edit (stacksizes) - I think 2 buyins deep he will call you with more speculative hands preflop and will always call 2 streets with his draws. He might expect you to 3street an ace so in his eyes he probably thinks he can get you off the pot even if he doesn't bluff often. C/c becomes a bit better in this case but not sure if its better than betting riv yourself.

since u checked here u basically have to call IMO unless u totally have a read that he enver ever bets AQ, AJ, A10 here and DOESN'T river bet missed flush draws. This is a decent spot for a gay blocker bet if u are worried about a set (for some reason???) and a 2 pair hand but to me it looks like 3 streets of value esp without specific read that I mentioned above

option 4 - cr/ai

Sometimes youre flush and sometimes youre bust, and when youre up, its never as good as it seems, and when youre down, you never think youll be up again, but life goes on - Fred Jung, Blow

That guy doesn't really bluff much if I remember, so he's probably trying to get value from a set here.

Go baller or go broke.

c/r ai seems pretty out of the question

This guy is passive as hell, he just wanted you to bet river so he can shove his set. Easy fold IMO.
If he had AQ he'd check back, and he knows you don't have a 3 so he's obviously not gunna bet with anything worse than a set here.

Go baller or go broke.Last edit: 16/05/2008 22:51
