alright i have been messing around with the 180man sngs lately and this hand came up last night. the villain had been min raising a lot and being generally loose. A few hands before this hand happened i raised some trash hand to steal and got 2 callers and it checked down and my pair of deuces held up. At this point there was 13 left. I would just like to know how this was played//was it just a stupid idea being so close to the FT. thanks

You said that you have been aggressive the last few hands.
That´s good, but people don´t want to be pushed around, so eventually they will come after you.
That´s why I don´t like your raise UTG with a marginal hand.
If you are playing TAG, ATo is good enough to raise. But with the image you presented
because of the last few hands. You are better off with letting the hand go.

Anyway, after your raise, you get reraised in MP; In this situation it is a clear fold.
Because you´re 90% of the times dominated or you have only one overcard.
Most of the times they don´t reraise with a low PP in this position. So you should muck it.
His range is 99+, AT+ in my opinion.
You have a decent stack left to wait for a better spot.

It's often better to raise in Position!
And besides... A lot of times it's better to fold AT in EP.

Greetings Insomnifist.

Raising ATo utg is fine but you have to let it go after he 3bet you for two reasons:
1- He has you covered
2- You don't want to play him oop

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt

I agree with folding to the three-bet, but for those who are suggesting open folding, isn't ATo a pretty standard minimum UTG opener six-handed?

tooker: there is very little money in stts.

Agree, folding it pre 6 handed is weak. But if we have been very active lastly i don't have any problem folding it.
