Basically i have a really good friend irl that i'm interested in staking. He's been a decently winning regular at 50NL for awhile now and he's going to cash out most if not all of his roll soon. So i was thinking of giving him 3k or something to play 100NL. Since i've never really done this before, i'm not sure what exactly would be fair in terms of what % of his profits i should get + the 3k i gave him. fwiw, i'm probably going to be sweating him a lot and looking over his questionable hands quite often.

What do you guys think?

50% is pretty standard for a staking deal I believe but its really up to you.

i dont like stakes because they dont care when they are playin with ur $ and are easier to be prone to tilt and spews

so this shuld be a discussion about wut interest rate u should charge for loaning $

I don't necessarily agree with this. With some people sure it's true, but others (mostly tournament players in my experience) play extremely well under other ppl's money, not having to stress about taking the hits with variance in MTT's can do wonders for your game. I read some stuff Bond18 (a pretty good MTT player) posted in 2p2 about how one of the reasons he isn't stressed at all about being in huge amounts of make up to Timex (another good MTT player/bigtime staker) is bc he knows he plays his best game when he isn't worry about going busto and Timex is really chill with dealing with the variance b/c he knows someday his investment is going to pay off.

On topic tho! The best advice I can offer is advice I got from Rainkhan... In staking the number 1 most important thing is trust.

Sure I guess I'll stake you. You seem pretty good.

You can call me Aaron Burr from the way I drop Hamiltons

If hes your close friend you should be somewhat easy with the staking deal. I've staked 6 of my close friends and it just sucks when they're not doing well or busts it. Maybe 30% of the winnings etc would be good. Or maybe even like $4500 back from 3k loan instead of doing 50% profit. My advice is do loan instead of staking deal following up semi decent roi % that he can achieve.
