hmm u have 30% equity and you're getting 2:1...and if you're getting his last 40 when u hit then it's profitable for sure. Otherwise you're losing not much.

I'm not omaha expert but shouldn't u take this to war on the flop? Specifically to avoid spots like this.

Why get it all in when I know he flopped the nuts? When Q or spade doesn't fall, I fold and save $40.

then why are you making this topic if you're already made up your mind... and if a spade comes on turn, you won't get action for sure, unless he's a total tard

if i am villain i am potting the turn w/ any strong draw, JJ/1010, and the nuts to isolate the pot. i also definitely take it to war on the flop vs an aggressive player who has the nuts (we have good equity vs the nuts) or an inferior draw (we have excellent equity vs that) w/ all the dead money in the pot. if you say he has "obvious nuts" then he must really suck, i would call the turn quickly and shove any river that completes our draw or pairs the board.

thundza you do realize you wont get his money if you hit but if you get it in on the flop AND youre a favorite then you get that money.

lets say river is 3s. pot is 135. i push for 40. he is getting 4:1 (40 to win 175). does he fold?

that's why I asked if I have enough implied odds...

thundza   United States. May 06 2008 11:37. Posts 1070

so, whenever I calculate the odds assuming he has at least 89xx, I have at most 0.55 equity or as low as 0.38 equity, mostly centering around 0.45 equity.

Vs JJxx I have at most 0.44 equity, or as low as 0.38.

I believe it is much more likely that he has 89xx.

Is it my goal to always get it in with these equities on the flop, even though they are likely unfavorable to me?

and how is this obvious?

do you have history on the villian. Too many people at omaha50 do this with sets.

i mean he could have something like top/middle set with mid flush redraw.

i really don't think that you can always put him on 89 is mainly what i'm saying.

the point is not "if you miss you save money." what you need to realize, is that by getting it in on this flop YOU ARE MAKING MONEY EVEN IF YOU LOSE THIS HAND. when you are asking people's advice on this hand, given that you dont have alot of history w/ villain, you're basically asking them what they do in your spot. and the answer is that your money needs to go in on this flop in this spot every time.

Easiest shove on the flop in the world. You have splitredraw+flushdraw+higher straightdraw+runner runner boat draw.

Also, worth noticing that when you get it in on flop, you get two cards. When you call, you get one -> hence you need implied odds which you have very little with the draws you have.

Everytime you minraise, God kills a fish.
