Berating fish is..

because of stupid pokerstars i havent gotten my cashout in forever and i was out of town with a friend. we had $100 between us, so naturally i go to the local casino to play 1/2 with it. i grind it up to about 140, then this fish raises to 12, i make it 40 with AKs from the sb, he snap calls. flop T56 rainbow, i decide to check and he stares at me for about about a minute before finally checking. turn K, ding. i check cuz i'm trappy and he fires 40, wee i shove in my final 100. he proceeds to read my soul for 2-3 minutes before calling with 34, obv hitting the nuts and slowrolling. fortunately i have rich poker friends and got some money via western union like a giant degen. yay for live poker!

I like being very chatty, polite, complimentary and sympathetic to fish. They carry on thinking they have always got unlucky, they play less aggressively against me than if I'd angered them, they reload cos they are having fun, and they are much less likely to hit and run. And it's just good manners. The fish are people just having a gamble and some fun and not necessarily idiots (except in poker knowledge). Make online poker an enjoyable experience for them and they will keep coming back rather than chucking their money at roulette or something. And it's just good manners.

Nothing worse than a poker player berating some guy just trying to have fun. It doesn't anger me as much as it sickens me. Berating eachother is less of an offense but definitely in bad taste.

I berate the regs a lot, I've been very friendly w/ everyone else though - including shortstackers.

Borgata 5/10, two regs sit down and start talking poker etc and how they were owning bc they ran AA into KK vs some fish at the must-move table. Anyways they proceed to brag about how they each make 200k /year grinding 5/10 and I'm just trying to figure out how they run so bad that they make so little at 5/10. Then I find out that they both do exactly the same thing whenever they get AA. They just go all in. Doesn't matter what action is in front of them, they go all in. Fucking retarded, I can't believe someone would ever play that way. Made them very easy to play against because you could always take AA out of their range postflop. Some people.

Also, later in the night the two guys play a pot vs each other, limped pot, reg-donk 1 in the bb flop is 336. checks through 3 ways. Turn 7, BB leads out 50 into ~50, UTG limper makes it 200, button shoves for like 1200 and then the BB goes into the tank before calling with....83o. UTG folds and river pairs the 7 so the 83 chops with A3. Live. Players. Suck.

I do it too much sometimes out of control, trying really to reduce that but it's usually the situation that makes me say something bad else I try to refrain, working on it at least.
