i don't "berate" anyone really, i just make funny/sarcastic remarks at regulars who start trying to justify retardation. i also give people shit when they start to explain to me how unlucky i got or something.

It's like you open your own business and you berate customers when they enter your shop, this is completly retarded ! Giving them the proper play or pointing their leaks is even worse... It's because they play bad people make money, if they weren't doing mistakes then Poker would be pointless, no money could be made off this game.

Plus people have to keep in mind this is just a game, even if money is on the line you can still be polite and fairplay. Even if someone is teasing you after they suck out grossly it's fine, just be patient and wait for the good hand.

lol it was really funny one night at 2/5 live at wynn. this geek sitting to my left is a standard ultra-nit regular who has read NLTAP and thinks he's a genius, wearing his sunglasses and holding perfectly still all the time and shit. so there's some pot where somebody raises, i 3bet, and raidan909 folds on the button. the original raiser shoved and i called, then raidan told the dealer that he folded J9 and doesn't want to see that he would have won the pot. the board runs out J974J and raidan is saying to the dealer, like "ugh, MAN, i shouldn't have folded!!"

so the guy to my left leans over and whispers to ME, "it doesn't matter what he would have gotten on the board, you see. it's only important that he made the correct decision. and he should obviously fold J9"

fuck it don't berate fish just don't its simple. Poker should be a game for everyone to enjoy, if someones playing bad and chasing against me that might just be the way they like to play. They don't deserve to be berated for it.

From a financial perspective it's probably better not to berate them but thats not the point, let them enjoy the game without getting barated.

I had a hand at the victoria casino in London, £1-3 NL so like $2-6 or w/e £600 buyin, one hand I'm sitting on like 2k or something and my opponent is on like 900, he reraises me preflop I call with 89s flop rags, it all rags and the only bet is my bluff on the river (like £50 into £77 or something), he thinks about it for like 2-3 mins, and then calls with AK unimproved, I of course muck my hand, then he takes his shades off and stares at me for about literally (no joke) 2 minutes with a "Don't try and shit on me" look, so much so that the guy sitting next to me makes a comment like lol@thatguy while he's in the middle of doing it, - this doesn't put the guy off though he's right in the middle of his staring..

Berating fish is one of the most stupid things you can do.
Obv fish plays because he enjoys it (unelss degen), he doesnt earn money doing it. So why one would be dumb enough to try decrease his pleasure from playing.
Berating regs is way more rasonable, but still I prefer friendly atmosphere at the table.

most 'berating of fish' happens just after the person doing the berating just lost a big pot to 'the fish' and can't contain their anguish. And the person who won the pot from them is just the natural target for their outburst. Kind of have to feel sorry for poker players so ruled by their emotions, pretty sad and pathetic but they're just human and nobodys perfect.

Kind of unfortunate for you though when some mentally weak idiot reg at your table loses control like that and starts upsetting the fish by berating cause thats def gonna make the fish uncomfortable and ruin their good time and make them less likely to come back. But it's not all bad news, cause if the guy doing the berating sticks around he'll prolly tilt some off. Losing control of emotions is a sign of being weak mentally and people who are mentally soft tend to also have pretty bad tilt control.

because of stupid pokerstars i havent gotten my cashout in forever and i was out of town with a friend. we had $100 between us, so naturally i go to the local casino to play 1/2 with it. i grind it up to about 140, then this fish raises to 12, i make it 40 with AKs from the sb, he snap calls. flop T56 rainbow, i decide to check and he stares at me for about about a minute before finally checking. turn K, ding. i check cuz i'm trappy and he fires 40, wee i shove in my final 100. he proceeds to read my soul for 2-3 minutes before calling with 34, obv hitting the nuts and slowrolling. fortunately i have rich poker friends and got some money via western union like a giant degen. yay for live poker!

I like being very chatty, polite, complimentary and sympathetic to fish. They carry on thinking they have always got unlucky, they play less aggressively against me than if I'd angered them, they reload cos they are having fun, and they are much less likely to hit and run. And it's just good manners. The fish are people just having a gamble and some fun and not necessarily idiots (except in poker knowledge). Make online poker an enjoyable experience for them and they will keep coming back rather than chucking their money at roulette or something. And it's just good manners.

Nothing worse than a poker player berating some guy just trying to have fun. It doesn't anger me as much as it sickens me. Berating eachother is less of an offense but definitely in bad taste.

I berate the regs a lot, I've been very friendly w/ everyone else though - including shortstackers.

Borgata 5/10, two regs sit down and start talking poker etc and how they were owning bc they ran AA into KK vs some fish at the must-move table. Anyways they proceed to brag about how they each make 200k /year grinding 5/10 and I'm just trying to figure out how they run so bad that they make so little at 5/10. Then I find out that they both do exactly the same thing whenever they get AA. They just go all in. Doesn't matter what action is in front of them, they go all in. Fucking retarded, I can't believe someone would ever play that way. Made them very easy to play against because you could always take AA out of their range postflop. Some people.

Also, later in the night the two guys play a pot vs each other, limped pot, reg-donk 1 in the bb flop is 336. checks through 3 ways. Turn 7, BB leads out 50 into ~50, UTG limper makes it 200, button shoves for like 1200 and then the BB goes into the tank before calling with....83o. UTG folds and river pairs the 7 so the 83 chops with A3. Live. Players. Suck.
