I have a newish laptop and all of a sudden no mice will work with. I have 2 Logitech MX and VX Revolution wirless and the Logitech wired gaming mouse. All 3 mice work as plug and play on all my other computers and this laptops USB ports all work with my headphones so not a hardware problem. As soon as I plug the mouse in it detects it and says installing hardware (I've already dl'ed the VISTA drivers off Logitech) and recognizes the mouse but the mouse wont work. Only like the weird scroll button that like loads webpages or something useless works. This laptop has VISTA btw but the mice work on my other VISTA laptop. This is very weird and is there like something that I may have turned on somewhere that disables mice or something?

$20 to the winner!!!!!!!!!

Go to the device manager and uninstall all the drivers and then reinstall them is my best guess.

this has something to do with your laptop thinking you're only using your touchpad or something ive fixed this problem before

fuck though, i can't for the life of me remember how to fix it

WHAT IS THIS

Plug in mouse, go to device manager, look for unknown devices, should be one that involves HID Devices, search for the driver in C:/Windows/Winsxs, it should work.

Worst scam attempt ever Yugless.

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt

i would check to see if you have a setting that isolates the mouse specifically to the touchpad. it isnt all that uncommon for a laptop to have built in software that allows you to change for one or the other

usually touchpad settings are either in the tray (bottom right of screen) or in the control panel good luck

If it isnt a touchpad issue it might be your USB inputs. My old laptop had issues where all the USB connectors would randomly stop working, but a restart usually fixed it (Im sure youve already tried to restart though :/)

yeah i kept trying that. everytine i go there it says mouse is disabled so I enable it and apply changes and it still doesnt work even if it now says 'devide is working properly' and I restart it and it just disables it again.

=(

Install new touchpad drivers.
Forget about installing the logitech drivers unless you need all those buttons.

Touchpad drivers are usually from Synaptic
