Blinds are 500/1k, 20 minute levels, I have 21k
Decent TAG (with 23k stack) opens in EP to 3500, folded to me in SB w/ TT. At the time, I shoved and was pretty happy about it (even when he showed up with QQ), but in retrospect, I think it might be -EV.
I think his opening range is probably 77+, AT+, KQ (AT is probably borderline), and his calling range is probably JJ+, AK (maybe AQ), against which I've about 30% equity. At the time, I felt calling OOP would make the hand too difficult to play, and folding was too nitty, and stack sizes meant shoving was the preferable 3-bet size.
Is the shove the best play:
1) in a vacuum?
2) taking in other considerations, such as the edge I have over the field (most of whom are typical live donks) making it possibly unwise to take marginal edges? |
