It's standard because a single pair doesn't fair well in omaha, let alone a multiway pot so the flatting from the blind is an attempt to control the pot size.

i think the correct play is to call, lead turn (depending on the turn) and fold if he raises. if the turn is bad like AQJT i just check fold
