throwdown sucks i think they were a joke band but then tried to be serious i still cant get over DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN STRAIGHT FUCKING EDGE BREAKDOWN BREAKDOWN BREAKDOWN and from what i remember the vocalists scratchy voice was annoying

i think i place hatebreed in a weird toughguy/NYHC/metal area i would reccomend icepick(this has the same vocalist as hatebreed) and sworn enemy

i was actually just stating my opinion on one of the bands mentioned previously and then i made my own recommendations...and i wouldn't say i hate this kind of music its just that i rarely listen to it(mostly never)

hatebreed is indeed "tough guy" hardcore, and a bit metal influenced

a lot of "true" hardcore fans(elitists) do not respect hatebreed at all and don't consider their music real HC. surprised me when I read that

they laugh at hatebreed just like a cannibal corpse fan would laugh at bullet for my valentine

hatebreed and other hardcore bands are indeed very boring musically, their formula is extremely simple but thats not what hardcore is about, its the powerful message in their music and the motivation they give out to kids to become a better person and not take shit from other ppl

another band that wasnt mention for you OP, madball, check them out if you dont know them already

theres also Botch but they arent pure hc

botch crosses some genres depending on song/album
