Obama never gets specific when he talks about issues and this allows him to portray himself as an "outsider" who will "unite Americans" through "bipartisanship", he repeatedly uses cliches like "Hope" and "Change" which allow him to sound like a good candidate without saying anything at all and therefore not betraying his inexperience
this kind of talk appeals to the many people who are disillusioned about the political process, particularly Democrats and liberal independents who are turned off by Hillary Clinton's divisive history and cold demeanor
unfortunately if you remember this was exactly the same tactic used by George W Bush in 2000 which allowed him to beat out more-qualified opponents and take control of the White House, control which he abused through ignorance resulting in a completely ruined economy and catastrophically managed war in Iraq
be VERY CAREFUL of politicians who speak in rhetoric and cliches without ever telling you EXACTLY what they plan to do once elected

Ted, no politicians really reveals what they want to do exactly
they will say they want to improve environnement, lower taxe, improve health system, improve economy, create new jobs, etc
newflash: they can't improve everything. they have to pay less attention to some field. but they won't tell you this... |

for instance Obama's universal healthcare plan is not mandatory (except for kids) so you could choose not to pay your whole life, get cancer, and at that point buy in and be covered for your entire treatment at taxpayer expense (??????)
go to his site and read the "Foreign Policy" section under "Issues," it is ridiculously idealistic and naive (especially the part where he thinks he can talk out all our differences with Iran lol) |

well lets just attack any country we have differences with then.
its very simple to solve all of the Unites States problems with middle eastern countries.
1-get out of Iraq
2-get your military bases out of every country in the middle east.
3-stop sending money and weapons to israel.
4-pressure israel to create a palestinian state and get back to the 1967 borders. |

Why would americans support palestinians ? You forgot jews are sitting in the white house next to the president ! But on a side note i've read that a lot of people think if Obama is elected he'll get assassinated, this is sick and scary at the same time. But i really think Obama is the best candidate for the democrats, fuck wasp people like Clinton, time for a black prez ! |

yea, lets just let them genocide the sects of their own faith that they dont agree with. Great plan. Lets stay out of Sudan too, let's just let everyone kill eachother. Moral responsibility for saving and informing the weak and oppressed be damned, right?
Of course your rebuttal will just be "WERE JUST THERE FOR OIL/MONEY" or "LET THEM SOLVE IT THEMSELVES".
I dont necessarily agree with going into Iraq, but we sure as hell cant just leave. If you the think the murder commited there now everyday is gruesome, just imagine if we pulled out and left the power to whoever had the most guns. Would make for a good TV show though, no? |

1- leave now and that country devolves into anarchy, the Kurds set up their own state in the north prompting open rebellion among the Kurds in Turkey, and Iran finances sects it agrees with and ends up in de facto control of southern Iraq
2- this is actually an excellent idea and I agree with you
3- Israel has the bomb, if we stop supporting them the Arab nations will attack and if they are at risk of annihilation they will start nuking (aka end of the world)
4- the Palestinians were offered their own state under the original UN plan and refused because Jews also got a nation, Arabs dont want a Palestinian state they want the Jews out of the region (or better yet dead). The premise that other Arab nations are mad at us because of the treatment of the Palestinians is a joke, the neighboring countries refuse to grant the Palestinians entry (witness the recent Gaza/Egypt situation) and are in reality using them as pawns to create false tension with the West that they can exploit for their own ends (keep their own subjects focused on external issues, Al Qaeda recruitment).
As for the 1967 borders that is the gayest logic I have ever heard, Israel won those lands defending themselves against Arab aggression. You can make a better argument for the US return of California to Mexico.

Honestly they all pretty much stand on the same sides on the important issues and personally I think it's a choice between a couple bowls full of shit.
In Obama's cause I just don't think the USA is ready for a Muslim president. |

1-The only solution to Iraq is splitting the country in three. There is no way in hell kurds, shiites and sunnies will live together in harmony in the same country. ( See ex-Yugoslavia for reference to what will happen ) Oh i forgot, theres another solution also. Get the most ruthless Sadam era army general and make him a dictator, which is not a realistic option.
3-This doesnt make sense. Israel doesnt need its nukes when it comes to war with the arabs. It only took them 6 days to basically destroy all their neighbors armies. Plus the arabs have too many problems with each other to unite and create a real threat to Israel. Plus Pakistan has nukes of its own leading to a "Cold War" type conflict if anything.
4-Arafat did refuse the Camp David proposal, which was a huge mistake since he would have basically gotten Gaza and most of West Bank except for a part of Jerusalem. Thinking that the muslim world hates the US just to create "false tensions" is plain ridiculous imo. They have been killing americans for the last 40 years, coincidentally since Israel annihilated them in the 6 day war with US weapons and cash. Also dont forget the US made Israel a nuclear power so they obv feel threatened by that. Remember what happened when the Soviet Union planted nuclear missles in Cuba ? |
