Ventrilo HOWTO from milkman

Hey guys, as you might know, Liquid Poker has its own ventrilo server that allows us to use voice communication.
If you have a microphone and you've been wanting to get on ventrilo, but havent been able to, this is for you!


Step 1. GO to http://ventrilo.com/download.php

Step 2. Click to download the newest windows client version. After you click it will send yo to a legal conformation page, click the "i agree" button to continue the download.

Step 3. Double click the ventrilo-3.0.exe file. (after this is just clicking through the "next screens" its just like any basic program installation) Click Next. Click accept at the license agreement page. Click next.
Enter your name or w/e, just click next. Select installation folder. click next.


Step 4. Run ventrilo. (double click the icon). You will see this screen, Click on the arrow next to the User Name box.
Click the "New" button. Enter the username you would like to have in ventrilo. Leave the other boxes blank, click "ok"


Step 5. Click the arrnow next to the server box.

Step 6. Click the new button, enter "Liquid Poker" as the servername.

Step 7. Enter the hostname ip, and port.
Hostname: Dallas6.NationVoice.com
Port: 3894
Click ok. Then in the main ventrilo window, click "Connect"
After you do that you will see the main server and the channels.



Seep 8. Click the Setup button, you will see this window. Please use a "push to talk hot key",
To change your hotkey just cick the box and what button you want. Alot of use use the capslock button, or a mouse button.
On the right under Amplifiers, there is an outbound and inbound volume. If you start talking and we ask you to lower your outbound, or raise your outbound, thats where you do it. If your having trouble hearing us, raise your inboud, or lower if were to loud.


Rules: Just keep in mind, the vent server is its own little community just like LP, just try and be a normal human while on there,
dont play music through your mic.
DOOOO NOT!!! sit there and ask people stupid ass questions all day long.. i know mezmerize plz is amazing and all, but no one wants
to hear you do your own little interview on him.
dont ask for the password to passworded channels.
dont join every channel in the sever to annoy us.
If your mic is messed up, please dont just keep shouting at us, try and fix it using the "monitor" button in setup.
Dont bring 10 of your CS friends in for scrims, same for dota or w/e, 1 or 2 friends is cool, just dont bring in whole teams that will attempt to use it when your not there..
If someone is sweating and they dont want you to watch, or someone is giving a lesson, respect that, and leave.

If you need an admin for anything, like you need a private chann to give someone a lesson, or someones being a douche.
just ask us, we are there to help, and normally dont have much reason to flex our admin powers.
Right now admins are: Milkman, Rainkhan, Mezmerizeplz, iamalex, JonnyCosmo and FrinkX

We dont normally have any problems with vent and its an awesome place to learn, i hope to see some new faces on there soon!!

sweet guide... after fiddling with my headset for about 30 minutes i got sound, then used about 30 minutes configurating settings, but still cant talk.
