Fear the Walking Dead: Season 1

Plot

Set in Los Angeles, California, the series follows a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two children - a son and a daughter - in the opening stages of the zombie apocalypse as they come to terms with the impending collapse of civilization.

The zombies in Fear the Walking Dead (FTWD) don't look old and weathered like the zombies in The Walking Dead because FTWD is telling what happened prior to The Walking Dead, so the zombies are still "fresh."

this actually looks a lot more interesting to me than the Walking Dead did when it originally came out

i'd like a zombie series where the survivors actually had survival skills....navy seals, army rangers, something. it's always random people who can barely function and i am supposed to believe that guys who had guns, protection, training, super fit, and super ready to kill are all dead, but the pussy school teacher somehow survives

like seriously....if we all looked ourselves in the mirror, we probably arent making it through some doomsday zombie event, but the guy who stock piled canned food, water, guns, ammo, clothes, etc and has a fucking bunker probably gonna make it

That would be cool for a while but would get boring fast. To some degree, they could be more prepared for sure, at least walking dead's main character is a trained sheriff. I suppose you can find that in zombie movies like world war z or i am legend, generally there's some kind of survival/military aspect there. There are probably less preppers in cities per 100k & especially major ones than anywhere else and that's where the mayhem is. It's also really hard to be fully prepared and store all the stuff you need while living a city life. I think what's more annoying is that nobody knows what a zombie is in 2015, at least in movies they can disregard that BS and just pummel in 1hr 30 of intense zombie action

Watched the first ep... It was ok.

Yeah, first episode was just okay.

It was the first episode of a show that is telling what happened in Los Angeles when the outbreak first started, so I expected more drama and less action. Episode two will probably introduce more characters and people turning into zombies. I expect multiple deaths in episode 3 or so. I guess it all depends on how long it takes the sickness to spread.

It was pretty boring, I expected much more, uninsteresting characters, I couldn't care less about that whole family, meh.

Were a lot of moments where I'm like "yup that guys gonna die and be a zombie" but it would always be a tease. was kind of boring in a way, but also kept me thinking a little. Don't like the actress playing the mom. Everyone else seemed alright. I like the obama lookalike principal for whatever reason.

felt like watching the strain all over again but five times as boring

I kinda liked that the skinny strung out drug addict went survival mode and is the hero of the show.

Tonight's episode (episode 2) was decent, much better than episode 1. They didn't fuck around and drag out the action until episode 3 like I thought they were going to do.
