Ep opens for 12-15 should I be tossing kq aj? What about small pairs and sc. ?

Also with opens avg 4-6bb what should my calling range look like hu?

assuming EP is competent we can give him a pretty strong range. KQo and AJo play well in heads up pots but they are pretty bad multiway. you should definitely not be folding sc and small pairs because they play incredibly well in multiway pots. they are great live because no one 3 bets so you get to see tons of flops with them so you can value bet into people.

honestly dude it's pretty worrying that you're playing so high and you don't get that, i hope you are grinding the micros and watching training videos in addition to playing live

Pairs are obviously must calls vs strong EP range; suited connectors not so much.

AJ and KQ play pretty well vs live fish but don't call some nits huge UTG open hu with AJo.

If people are opening 6bb that is an excellent game just rape it

2/3 is also not high it is most likely the lowest stake live game available to the OP

Yeah but it doesn't seem like it's beneficial to be playing in these live games before he has a solid ABC game that could be developed by losing 50 dollars at the micro instead of 2000 live. He's also not getting the benefit of database software

Tracks I'm also curious about your view of the suited connectors vs pocket pairs. I was operating under the assumption that they play very well against tighter range in position especially since live games play passive enough they are often able to see turns and rivers for free

agreed he should play online to improve

yea that is pretty much true rinny but they just aren't as good as pocket pairs. Hitting sets is just so valuable in this game. Connectors don't flop as hard as often or as "black or white" (to use a bad metaphor to summarize things). They require a little more finesse and postflop play cause its not like you just hit your flush or straight on the flop you often have to draw. Would just be careful calling giant open raises with 45s and 79s it would be a mistake to think its as profitable as your connectors. Look up how much money you make with each hand in your database.

Last I tracked myself from what I remember I was profitable with all pocket pairs. I think I was slightly winning/breakeven with the lower SCs and breakeven/slightly losing with One gappers.

Anyone else confirm what this is supposed to look like? I imagine it is pretty similar between winning players, especially with the same winrate.

Rinny thanks for the advice. I'm putting some cash on bovada now and I'll work on that. I really asked just because this last week I've had a lot of mediocre hands lose with kickers and stuff and I'm not losing stacks or anything. Just started wondering if they are profitable. Lots of them turn multiway I wonder if I should be 3 betting the kq aj hands to get them heads up but live players are weird. They limp a lot and have tighter opens.... So same question but micro stakes online. What you do vs unknown ep open. You're in co with kq aj.

Agree on pp and sc. They are both easier post flop and really aren't my Question.

Ok well instead of just talking about these two specific hands lets talk about all unsuited Broadway hands. Against an utg raise by a TAG or nit I think we can fold these hands unless there are so many callers ahead of us we are getting odds to call to try to hit 2p+. I think the biggest strengths of these hands in late position is when the pot lims to us we can raise for value then play a pot in position vs the weaker limper ranges where either take it down with a cbet when vs 1-2 people or we try to value town the shit out of tpbk and below. Keep in mind Im just someone who beat 4nl and is trying to develop a solid live game so I'm trying to refine my game as well

Vs a random ep open I am prolly flatting both KQ and AJ

Thanks guys. Rinny I'm going to put a lot of work into fundamentals online. Off topic but have any of you looked at pokersnowie ? Was wondering what you think of its preflop advisor for 6max.

SuperCardUser   United States. Jun 28 2015 08:14. Posts 83

It's free phone app. Basically just a preflop advisor for gto preflop play. Doesn't go postflop.
