Ok so, I played a lot of Hearthstone, and this is by far the funniest thing I've ever seen. I was playing a game of Priest vs Druid and I was really distracted reading some stuff on my other monitor throughout the game. I made a bunch of mistakes and hated myself and I was very likely to lose. Anyway, this guy is about to run out of cards and plays the Golden Monkey. He ends up getting a N'Zoth from it and he was playing a N'Zoth deck to begin with. So he plays it as his last card and swamps the board with two Sylvanas and some other low attack deathrattle minions. I clear some of them next turn with Excavated Evil, but I don't have much left in hand for next turn, just a Sylvanas, Doomsayer, and Brann. So I play the Brann and Doomsayer and heal up. His board has N'Zoth, two Sylvanas, one small minion and a Confessor's Priestest (Inspire: Summon a random legendary minion). Last turn: he has lethal if he hero powers, there's 17 on board and I have 18 HP. I almost concede, but figure there's a small chance he's distracted and misses it and attacks my Doomsayer instead. (Not that this would matter because I'm sure I have nothing in my deck to clear his board next turn. At best I get Reno and get to live one more turn) So, he takes up a lot of time, probably counting if he has lethal. Right before the rope animation starts, he hero powers, obviously knowing he has lethal. His Priestest spawns a fucking Nozdormu, and the rope appears immediately and in one second his turn is over (WTF!) and my doomsayer is triggered. He's left with no board and only Excavated Evil in hand while I have a few more cards in my deck. ROFL, what a shit show. I wonder what are the odds of that.

Sick bump. I play this game casually right now and it's pretty much the only game I play. I've been playing for a little over a year now. I don't know if this is the best method of "getting good" but I can basically tell you what I did when I started playing. After learning the basics of the game play with the newb cards the game gives you, I googled "best hearthstone deck" and dropped $100~ to craft a Tier 1 deck. Then I started playing ranked play. I played non-stop and after every ass kicking I adjusted my gameplay around the cards I was learning and the mistakes I was making. It's probably not the least aggravating way to learn the game but I think it's a pretty fast way to learn it. I went from Rank 25 to Legend my first month of playing and I have friends who've played for years and haven't even made Legend rank.

You can also follow Hearthstone tournaments on youtube or twitch. You will find that almost all players play one of the same 10-20 decks that are currently most powerful in the meta. Watching pros play the decks and listening to the commentary will probably be helpful in learning the decks/cards and how to play around certain things.

I would recommend playing a "zoolock" deck. It's currently one of the best decks in the meta, it's one of the cheapest decks to build, and it's one of the easiest decks to play.

the best rank ever i got was 13 in like 4 seasons.

Standard meta is alot paper rock sissors atm.
I had easiest legend run with https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1182814-best-togwaggle ...had 6-7 losses from 5 to legend with this deck. Like 10+ winstreak in end. This deck only main weaknesses are quest rogue, rattle hunter and odd warlock. Other matchups are really your favored and rattle hunter is winnable like 30% also vs odd warlock u actually mostly dont swap deck u use naturalizes before because geist. With 2 starfalls u reck zoos and they are good single target removals also.

i ve spent like 600 or more dollars lifetime in the game, its kinda fun sometimes but tbh now i enjoy more watchin others play it than playin it myself

you get gold from daily missions more than enough to have 1 deck, now if you want to have every card then you gotta pay

true, they also give packs and extra gold with each expansion.
Biggest problem this game has is that it has very small edges imo
Even if you're the best you have to grind a shitton to get on top of the ladder and you're gonna lose a lot by ppl who play poorly
