UPDATE:: New video.

This is a video I wanted to make before I got into talking about programming for beginners. Its important that people have certain things in the long run. Eventually anyone serious is going to want to pick up most of these things. But its nice to review the basic tools before getting into talking about how to get started. Anyway enjoy! I made a little progress video to give an idea of what my intensity days are looking like. I want to make some more beginner oriented videos in the future though. I have a few friends I have been coaching lately and I really enjoy it. So I'm going to try and put out some videos for people looking to getting into some lifting. I'll try and go over some programming and details about things that people might struggle with learning about. This one took me a while because I had to learn how to edit everything, but in the future I'll try and up the quality a bit. Any questions welcome. <3 peace

hey how do u set up the guard on the rack to the precise spot where u can bench and hit ur chest with the barbell but not make contact with the guard... mines eitehr too high or too low

normally i go below parallel but i just couldnt really gauge it right today because of the elevated heel. And u need to arch ur back properly and get really tight. So when you're arched ur chest is gonna be above the bars by a little bit. enough that u can touch ur chest without hitting it. (this squat rack was extra tough to get it right but I still wasnt making contact except for a couple times on warmups and i think on one rep of my main lift) and if u miss the rep u just deflate urself and the bars will catch it

Lewl, Rehband knee sleeves, Adipowers, gymshark shirt...you're all swagged out for the gym .

Need a better profile shot for both deadlift and squat. Looks like you are low bar squatting and you should have a tiny bit more forward lean so the bar has more center of gravity. However, at this angle it's hard to tell.

If you're going to wear a belt get a quality one from Inzer or Toro.

If you ever think about upgrading your knee sleeves, get SBDs. They are much more snug and feel 10x better than Rehbands.

i agree about angles. i couldnt really tell until after i was already home though and got to watch footage. :. But with deadlift i couldn't because I was already in the middle of shit with the deadlift bar and stuff so my camera couldn't go on the side too. and ye im trying to lowbar lately. still getting used to it only switched 3 weeks ago. It felt pretty comfy but I'll try a get another angle and see what it looks like next time. ye my lifting belt is cheap i got it from dicks sporting goods a while ago. I'll upgrade it pretty soon though it feels rly comfy so hard to let go lol.

and ye i just heard about SBD's literally the day I ordered the rehbands and was like FK... lol but i like the rehbands a lot. they are rly tight so I cant imagine what the SBDs must feel like. but I'll chill for now and maybe upgrade later down the line.

i definitely looked like the biggest dickhead ever shooting this though. gymshark, adis, rehband, a fking camera tripod LOL....

is that proper form with ur dead lift? u seem to be doing it somewhat properly from beginning till ur standing tall, but then u just hunch over and drop the bar. you doing a modified deadlift or something?

ur bench setup is terrible and it seems like u utilize no leg drive

hard to judge others lifts due to retarded angle, i would use narrower stance for dl thou. also LOL @ straps

You are def on the right track, I like your knees travelling foward on the squat and your DL looks good aswell, but your bench is atrocious.

High arching of back is optional, however retracting scapulae and using leg drive is not. Get a spotter to hand you the bar on heavier sets, it's impossible to mantain proper position if you have to unrack by yourself.

I'm just basically dropping the bar. Im strapped on to it so kinda have to unless i wanna reset my straps everytime. But im not really controling it or anything i just lean slightly with a tight back and basically initiate a drop immediately and go with the bar

ye ive struggled with leg drive but I'm trying to be conscious of it and work on it. this was just a real shit day. I had setup with my scapula retracted and planted myself but then when it came time to unrack the bar i couldn't without moving my shoulders. I didnt really have a good setup at all with this power rack tbh. usually I try and get a spotter on bench day but this was 3am and i pissed off one of the few people in the gym that day so decided power rack was the way to go. I posted it anyway because I wanted to show the whole scope of my development right now. I only started benching 2 months ago so I've struggled with it a bit. though this clip is basically the worst session ive ever had for a few reasons
