+1

Should be an interesting fight overall imo, Esparza supposedly dominates on the ground while Rose has sick BJJ, both re quite good boxers( or at least seemed so @ Esparza after her last fight ) but Rose should have the advantage there, Overall Rose should be the better fighter though as she can counter Esparza s best moves

Put a small bet on Alex Chambers. Aisling Daly looked like absolute shit at weigh-ins

I already picked Stephens to win but, Oliveira came in overweight and looked drained.
Daly looked bad.

Carla Esparza (115) vs. Rose Namajunas (115) – for inaugural strawweight title
Charles Oliveira (146.5)* vs. Jeremy Stephens (146)
Daron Cruickshank (156) vs. K.J. Noons (156)
Yancy Medeiros (155.5) vs. Joe Proctor (156)
Randa Markos (116) vs. Jessica Penne (115.5)
Felice Herrig (115) vs. Lisa Ellis (115)
Heather Jo Clark (115.5) vs. Bec Rawlings (116)
Joanne Calderwood (116) vs. Seo Hee Ham (114.5)
Angela Magana (115.5) vs. Tecia Torres (115.5)
Alex Chambers (114.5) vs. Aisling Daly (118)**
Angela Hill (115.5) vs. Emily Kagan (116)

* Oliveira was 147 on his first attempt, but could not reach the featherweight max of 146 pounds. He surrenders 10 percent of his purse to Stephens.
** Daly surrenders 20 percent of her purse to Chambers.

Rose > Carla - Even if it goes to decision, I've learned that the crowd can negate the LnP
Chuck O > Stephens - I'll take the classier striker and and better all around guy over the ko artist
Cruickshank > Noons
Mederios > Proctor (Proctor's bottom tier and on his way out)
Markos v Penne - Razor thin and definitely doing the distance - love not ITD @ -180
Herrig > Ellis - Both suck
Rawlings > Clark - Would bet on Clark at +165
Never seen Ham fight
Torres > Magana - Throw it any parlay and feel completely safe
Daly > Chambers
Hill > Kagan - Would definitely bet on Hill and I think she gets one of the only TKO/KO's of the night

1. Yes, crowds can have an impact on judging, however, LnP wins way more often. Also, Carla isn't a LnP wrestler, she likes to GnP when she's on top.

2. You know Oliveira missed weight, right? He weighed in at 147, then tried to cut more weight, but he was only able to shed .5 pounds, which means he is still .5 pounds over. Cutting weight a second time and not being able to lose 1 pound is a big deal for multiple reasons. Also, he missed weight in September 2014 and got sick afterward, so his fight versus Nik Lentz was cancelled. I wonder if his body is getting too big for 145... dunno...

3. I'm picking Medeiros to win, too, but Proctor can't be on his way out because he's currently on a 2-fight win streak.

4. You know Daly missed weight by 2 pounds, right? She looked the worst out of everyone who weighed in. Daly looked tired/weak/stressed walking to the stage, and while she was on the stage, and on the scale. Before the weigh-in, I picked her to win, but now, I dunno. Either way, I'm not betting on that fight, so I don't care much.

1. If she tries any significant GnP she will get swept or submitted. She showed ZERO good GnP on the show, and sadly, I watched all her fights. When she got Penne down she literally threw nothing and buried her head in her chest, did nothing to Tecia on the ground either, and I'd put Rose's back-game on Penne's level and than some. It's a close fight, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't bet on Rose as a hearty favorite, but I do think she'll win either via sub or I do think she can win a decision with a combination of clearly winning the standup and being the more active fighter on the ground

2. Yea, the weight thing is an issue, and I did see it - although I didn't know he couldn't shed the extra lb. Unprofessional and probably too big for the weight class, absolutely. Change my opinion on the fight? Nah, not really - I think Oliveria frustrates him with jab/kicks and the minute it hits the floor Stephens is in big trouble and needs to get up. He can certainly KO Oliveria or hurt him a couple times bad enough to win a decision but for a pickem fight, I feel pretty good about Chuck.

3. Proctor is not good. You are right, and I honestly did think he was on a losing streak, but Christiano Marcello is absolutely awful and Justin Salas is bad as well. I guess he's not on his way out immediately, but I'd make a bet that he gets 1 more win in the UFC tops unless they actively want to keep him around as a favor to J-Lau or something, 155 is just too deep for a mediocre fighter like him

4. The Daly v Chambers fight I really had no read on or give no fucks about, so take no stock in my pick there, was going with the favorite who hits harder.

Prelims start in 50 minutes. I have to take a test at school, so I won't be able to watch any of the fights until 6pm, which is when the main card starts.

Hill is a beast. I hope she develops elite TDD, she's one of the few women who is likable and exciting to watch.

Yah, as expected, Angela Hill beat the living fuck out of Kagan. What a value @ -160. Props to Kagan for not getting finished. That's a 30-24 scorecard.

Completely agree. Her TDD looked much better but it's hard to tell cuz Kagan's wrestling certainly didn't look Elite, although it wasn't bad either IMO. She can certainly strike with anyone in the divison. Needs a better jab though, I love her clich and power punches but her jab wasn't pretty.

Tecia Torres is the best athlete in that division. She needs to add a lot of things to her game but the athletic attributes are all there.
