I thought Edgar has one technique that Cub Swanson just didn't know how to stop. There should'nt be a one technique you cannot stop, especially something that easy. He can't stop a "take you down, hit you in the head, apply downward pressure tehcnique". It's a huge leak. |

refreshing Conor's twitter for ensuing hilarity. How much of a dog would Conor be in your opinion? |

Literally all you have to do is push back at him. Cub is stronger. Then when they fall he gets top position. Instead hes trying to escape and always loses. |

Or at least pose threats with knees and elbows when he tries. |

Post-fight press conference: http://www.ufc.tv/video/edgar-vs-swanson-post-fight-press-conference
The YouTube stream has been sketchy lately, probably cuz UFC wants more views on their own website.

Conor will get the next title shot (as long as he doesn't choke versus Dennis Siver). Cub was gonna get it if he beat Frankie, but that didn't happen. Also, Frankie doesn't bring in big PPV money, so there's no rush to have him rematch Jose Aldo just yet. |

Instead he just broke and literally got into a butterfly guard that he cannot get out of every time. "Yep I'll just go to the butterfly position now, just like they taught in class! Uh oh uh it hurts!" Then he doesn't know how to get out. |

i think edgar is 70% vs conor in a 5 round fight.
i suspect the line would be much closer. |

The counter to Edgar is pretty easy, its a Cub Swanson that can keep it standing. Just ignore Edgars lacking strikes and focus on openings. |

This creates an intriguing scenario. Whether Conor wins or loses against Aldo (say around mid 2015 provided no one is injured), he will most likely face a wolf-wrestler, someone like Mendes or Edgar, and could potentially drop 2 in a row. I wonder if he'll get a speech impediment if that does indeed happen... |

McGregor is too intense, it's like Aldo. That's not the optimal way to beat Edgar, you need someone more relaxed like a Cub Swanson. Just don't leak any energy and look for openings. Don't approach it like a fight, it's more like trying to swa t a fly. He has no power, so you don't really have to pay him much respect. The intensity of McGregor and Aldo works against them, as they treat it like a fight, it's too balanced, Edgar has a huge leak that he has no power in strikes, just exploit it, he can't really fix it except with wrestling. |

The trouble is that someone more relaxed doesn't have the inner compression to deal with the wrestling. |

Thought the first Aldo vs Edgar fight was reasonably close and Edgar has improved a ton since then, while Aldo's basically the same. Aldos obv the favorite, but not by a huge amount imo. |

I thought Edgar won their first fight, but his face played a role against him. If they fight again it will be a close fight again imo. If Aldo's fight against Mendes was close he would be in trouble because his face was a mess.
-edit- nah i was wrong, aldo would never be in trouble. the fight was in brazil and we all know its impossible to beat a brazilian by decision in br. |
