I would never bet on Colton Smith, that guy may be a decent wrestler but he's one of the worst mma fighters on the roster, I think he loses and gets his papers, and I don't even know anything about the guy he's fighting so don't take this as any sort of intelligent comment regarding betting, but man that guy is shit.

Yeah, he's terrible, but he has a decent chin and his opponent isn't a good striker, he just brawls. Both guys were in a grappling tournament against each other last year and, from watching the video, I think Smith will do what's necessary to grind out a win. I have $10 on Smith at +180, and $20 on o2.5 rounds at -125.

I dont like the bet on Nate at all, 3 loss streak, bigger weight class, TeHunas losses are only against top tier contenders and has a lot of KO power.. at those odds I wouldnt bet on Nate

It's all relative.

At one point, Te Huna was on a 4-fight win streak at 205 lbs. against weak opponents, 3 of whom aren't in the UFC anymore and the other guy is Jimmo, who beat Te Huna's ass in round 1 and then gassed out and lost by decision. Te Huna is currently on a 2-fight losing streak. He was exposed by Glover Teixeira and got taken down and submitted halfway into round 1. Te Huna then fought a washed up Shogun and was 1-punch KO`ed for leaving his hands down 1 minute into round 1.

Marquardt is currently on a 3-fight losing streak. He got leg-kicked to death by Saffiedine in a 5-round fight and lost by decision. He got TKO`ed 3 minutes into round 1 by Ellenberger, who looked great in that fight. He then got TKO`ed 2 minutes into round 1 by Lombard, which everyone expected, as Marquardt couldn't take down + submit + or knockout Lombard.

Marquardt moved back up from 170 lbs to 185 lbs for this fight, and Te Huna moved down from 205 lbs to 185 lbs for this fight. At +185, there's value in Marquardt, at least for me.

Marquardt is a better fighter than TeHuna and is a pretty sizeable dog. Is he also washed up, chinny, and under-sized? Yes. It's all gonna come down to what kinda fight it is but if there isn't a finish, I sorta really like the Great at those odds.

Was Mike Rhodes on short notice or something against George Sullivan? Because I just watched that fight and I think Whittaker should destroy the guy I saw. Whittaker is a pretty damn good striker and theres no shame in getting put to sleep by Steven Thompson if you decide to fight his fight, which is exactly what Whittaker did. Before that he's looked very good and improving in each fight, including the Thompson one... he just got caught by a very good striker. These odds seem fine to me unless I'm missing something on Rhodes (trust me I don't hold losing to Brandon Thatch against him at all).

Rhodes fought like crap in his UFC debut, and Thatch is just better than him.

Rhodes is a better counter striker, and I think that if this fight stays on the feet, it will be close. However, both of these guys are fighting for their jobs, so I dunno if this will be as epic as we all hope. I wouldn't be surprised if these two strikers go for a take down at some point and LnP for a bit, just to secure a round. Neither are good at take downs, no idea if either of them are good at BJJ.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Rhodes took his UFC debut on 11 days notice and had to cut 36 pounds to make the weight.

Anyone who beated Te Huna would also woop Marqardts ass too, Im not saying Te Huna is a favorite but its definitelly not a +180 dog the size difference its pretty big too

Considering Te Huna got his ass beat at 205 pounds, I'd expect anyone who beat his ass could also beat a 170/185`er in Nate Marquardt.

Also, this card starts in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The last fight was trash. Richie Vaculik humped his way to a decision win. It was expect I guess.

----------

Jake Matthews is legit. He's a big lightweight with a ton of power and skill, and he was the aggressor the entire fight. Can't wait to see more fights from him in the future.

Marquardt +185 and u1.5 +117 = cashes

Nate Marquardt silences the New Zealand crowd, and they all start leaving the arena with the quickness.

Bets I really like:

- Marquardt (+180)
- Charles Oliveira inside distance (+230)
- Mike Rhodes (+250)

Rhodes fight was the only disappointing, I thought he was the better striker. Only waiting for Swanson to win.

BJJ guys what should tehuna should have done? it looks like just rolling to his right gets him out of danger, what about simply holding Nates right ankle instead of pulling on his own arm? wouldnt that stop Nate from locking the armbar too?

Do Bronx is such a fucking entertaining fighter. Hioki vs Olivieira better win all the bonuses.

Hm.. Off-suite socks..
