- Germaine de Randamie was scheduled to face Milana Dudieva at the event. However, de Randamie was removed from the card due to an alleged visa issue restricting her travel to Canada. - Unlike other recent events the preliminary card is being shown on FX instead of Fox Sports 1.

First thoughts:

• Johnson > Bagautinov (DJ via finish. Bagautinov is way too slow to beat DJ and Dodson. He was super hesitant against Lineker cuz of his 1-dimensional heavy handed boxing. This is a showcase fight for DJ to show how much more dominant he is than most of the division. Bagautinov only has a punchers chance, which is kinda ironic, considering his nickname is the "Puncher King." )
• Woodley > MacDonald
• Bader > Cavalcante (Kind of a close fight. Cavalcante has the better striking, while Bader has the better wrestling and cardio. Both guys can KO each other.)
• Schaub > Arlovski (Schaub opened up as the underdog for this fight, which is crazy. Too bad it was only on 5dimes and not Bookmaker.)
• Jimmo > OSP (Close fight here. OSP is slowly improving but, I expect Jimmo to know this and fight smart, and either look for a stoppage in round 3 or coast to a decision win.)
• Sarafian vs. Kunimoto (dunno)
• Letourneau vs. Phillips (dunno)
• Easton > Jabouin (Hard fight to call. Easton is the better overall fighter, but not by much. I can see Jabouin winning a close decision.)
• Johnson > Bang
• Tanaka > Delorme
• Saggo vs. Shockley (dunno)

Bets I am thinking:

- DJ inside distance +140 (DJ has become a finisher, he is always looking for the finish specially the submission but that line is not yet so I will wait)
- Rory Macdonald +120 (I think Tyron is good but he looked very bad against Shields)
- Bader -140 (I think this is a close fight but to me Bader seems to improve a little every fight, and he almost knock out Glover Teixeira)

My only strongish opinions:

MM > Ali B - big time, will throw it in my parlays to make it more entertaining and because I just don't see him losing so I'm fine with the heavy odds.

RMac > Woodley - Close to a pickem in my head, but I'll go with the underdog for betting purposes in Rory - he should be able to keep the distance and I don't think he'll get out-grappled, and it's only a 3-rd fight so I don't think cardio will be an issue for either guy. Rory is a more well-rounded fighter and that should serve him well if it ever hits the ground. If R-Mac is smart, he's ready to mix in a heavy clinch game when Woodley tries to unload power punches to keep him guessing and once the pace slows down, it favors Rory.

Calvacante > Bader - I tend to think Cavalcante should get it done over Bader, VERY close fight but getting him as the underdog is just fine by me. I just feel like Bader is way chinnier than other very good wrestlers that Cavalcante has put away - King Mo, Yoel Romero, and he even rocked Hendo. His cardio isnt good, but against Thiago Silva he was clearly fighting very emotional and not smart so it looked even worse, which I don't foresee being an issue here. I expect Bader to get some TD's but won't be able to hold him down or do much damage with them.

Easton > Jabuin - Easton has more ways to win and a gnarly good chin. Jaboiun is a more technical kickboxer but as long as it's an MMA fight and not a sparring session, Easton should get it done via tko or decision.

My favorite line on the card is Demetrious Johnson/Ali Bagautinov u4.5 +145. Johnson opened at +418 ITD, but it wasn't on the bookie I currently use.

I except DJ to be better than Ali in every area of MMA, which means that Ali literally only has a punchers chance. Since DJ is so much faster on the feet and attacks from all angles, I except him to stun Ali at some point and then finish the fight on the ground. Ali's only way to win is within the first 3 rounds, where he's still fresh and his power is still there. IMO, I don't think Ali will be dangerous at all in the 3rd round, so I give him the first 10 minutes to get the KO/TKO.

----------

Rory MacDonald vs. Tyron Woodley is an online bookies wet dream. Rory went as high as -165 to +145, while Tyron went from -165 to +125. The current line is even at -110 for both guys* on 5dimes. You can get Tyron at -103 at Bookmaker right now.

I think cardio would be an issue for only Woodley if it were a 5 round fight. The guy seems to be like many insanely ripped/muscled guys in that he's really explosive early and then starts to fade a bit. He faded as the fight went on against Nate Marquadt and I actually thought he was already starting to look pretty winded at the end of just a round and a half of his last fight with Condit before a great takedown spun out Condit's knee. Whereas Rory fights at a pretty measured pace. So I'd really like Rory in this if it were for 5. But as it is, I see a lot of 2 rounds to 1 decisions for Woodley if this were played over and over. Like you say tho, Rory's a pretty smart fighter. Rooting for him

I wasn't gonna bet this event due to school, but the opening lines for this event were wild. 8 out 11 or so of the fights had lines that were near even.

My bets and picks pre-live betting:
