No reads. The idea behind the way I played this hand was that I assumed he would have K10/KJ/KQ and I wanted to get as much money from him as possible. Maybe that's just completely stupid ... that's what I'm here to find out.

In retrospect I feel like I should make it 4x pre, bet 120 on the flop, check call the turn and check call or even check fold the river depending on if/how much he bets the turn/river.... basically fear that paired turn immensely and then slow down and try to see the river as cheaply as possible.

Any/all opinions welcome.

You want to get as much money from him but you bet like a wuss.

Do you agree with my proposed preflop and flop bet sizing?

You're firing the turn hard and getting it in if he re raises? Even a K?

I know I said all opinions helpful but please... expand a little

I'm a complete noob but pf-size is fine.

Not really sure about 6-max SnG's so your sizing might be fine tbh it just contradicts what you're saying about 'wanting to get as much money as possible.'

I would still bet like 150 on the flop and like 350 on the turn.

As played, the river shove is really bad.

When I say I want to get as much money as possible I mean I bet the turn weak so as not to scare him off his K-whatever and allow him to hit his Q/J/10 on the river. As played, I'm hoping he's hanging around with KJ and thinks he's outdrawn my AK on the river. As you can see just calling would leave me with 500 chips which to be fair at 10/20 is a decent amount to try a comeback with but I decided I was going to fold or put him in and went with putting him in.

So what you're saying is that you'd be betting more on the flop and then betting big on the turn to find out where he's at? Would you fold the turn if he re-raised? If he just calls again on the turn what's the plan for the river? Check/fold? Check/call? Jam?

It's actually played alright, you could maybe bet bigger all streets but it's not awful. Where you go wrong is when faced with the river raise. You need to decide whether to call that raise or fold. When he raises he is repping a hand either better than yours or a bluff. So there is no point to 3bet the river as you did because he will always either fold worse (bluffs) or call with better.

Thank you traxamillion, your responses are always helpful. Could check/calling the river be an option? I often will take a pot control line if the board pairs or a straight/flush becomes possible. Should I really be bet folding these situations a lot more? As you can see bet/fold is not my strong point

I like check calling the river when you have a strong hand but not the nuts because it seems to induce a lot of bluffs from missed draws and weaker hands and if they have actually made the nuts then at least I'm not crippling myself by calling a value bet and I at least get to showdown.

I agree with check-call line on the River. As played I think you just need to let the hand go on the river. Any King is not raising here unless they are really out of line or you had some history with this player. Given no reads I don't think you can call his raise here.

Also, I think your bet sizing is bad, half pot on flop? gotta bump it up.

no reason to call people clowns just because you butchered a hand and they have a preflop leak
your river re raise shows that you make similar or worse mistakes postflop, even if you were god's gift to poker that's no reason to be shitty about it tbh

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...
