4 handed, villain is a friend of mine he is on my direct left. He has started to 3bet me light from BU when we became 4 handed. Most hands that I play with him do not go to showdown, he is capable of floating in pos and barrelling when checked to.

stack sizes
villain $260
hero $285

hero opens $4 9dTd , villain calls from BU, sb and bb calls

pot $16
flop 3d7h8d

sb checks, bb checks, hero bets $13, villain calls, sb and bb folds

pot $42
turn 4c

hero checks, villain bets $34, hero raises $85, villain tanks for about 1 minute, asks how much I raised to then goes all in.

alternative line?

hero can still fold, or do we gambooooooooooool?

I might be a little bit off with the bet sizes and pot sizes but this is the most accurate I can remember.

im assuming you raised 85 on top of his 34? You have to call as played.

I don't like the c/r would rather just barell or c/c

I like leading turn here rather than check raising. If you had completed a hand here I would possibly go for the check-raise knowing he will bet into me.

+ Show Spoiler +

when he 3b shoves this turn I felt crushed as I could only see him doing this with his value hands (56,33,77,88), but yeah I felt like once I c/r this turn I will be shoving all rivers anyways so I ended up making the call while I still have some equity.

I thought about it for a minute, only thing I didn't want to see was Ad7d

note: Are there any programs like pokerstove I can dl for free? Mine expired months ago and just cannot renew it.

if you hate to give up, you could overbet the turn and shove river.

there are no facts only interpretations

stacks are too awkward to c/r this turn just bet/call/fold

poker is soooo much easier when you flop sets

interesting you have exact pot odds

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

I barrel turn every time, if you are going to check you should just check call.
I hate checking, you have an amazing amount of equity and you can easily call a raise on the turn of you lead.
Not sure how much equity you might have here. But you need 30% 158 (call)/ 528 (pot with call).
I think you might make some money here with your 15 semi gtd outs, if he can have just a pair of 8s sometimes with added 6 outs it's a obvious calls. But he is maybe crushing you if he has AJdd or something, but I think you should probably call, I don't love it though. Think edges can be way larger than this in a live game. But would be a little painful to fold at this point I guess.

Lol neilly. 'If he raises turn, jam fold or call'. Thanks for making us aware of every possible option

c/r turn in this situation is iffy exactly cause this might happen

this is like the 1 spot u really dont want to get into with ur hand, u much rather want to be the one shipping

as played... flip a coin or challenge ur friend to rock paper scissors and say if u win i'll fold
