In many countries you can defile a 16year old, bondage, S&M, Anal, take dump on her face, you name it as long as it's with her consent. And all is well.
But buy her a light beer and you are in trouble with the law.

"Democracy is a kind of government, that guarantees us, that we wont be govern better than we deserve" (c) Jacek Kuron, Polish politician

Well, in my country we can pay no taxes when we win playing live poker in EU, but if we win somewhere else - its 30% tax, even tho poker online is illegal in my country - live poker is allowed as tournements ( with 30% tax on winnings - without subtracting entry fee/fees from other tournaments ) and you have to register your tournament a month before in the ministry.

Biggest opposition party in our chamber of deputies (~30% of voters ) use only language of hatred, suspicion, conspiracy and like they have monopoly for truth and solutions and every other way is corrupt and wrong. Oh, and they represent right wing of political spectrum.

Average salary in my country after taxes is 880$, but many ppl after finishing university have to live for 300-500$/month for years, unemployment - 14%.

We've got ppl fighting when "watching" football games on stadiums regularly, when we've got demonstrations they paralyze traffic in capital city.

I think this thread has potential, i'd like to hear what people find annoying in their countries.

U.S. foreign policy when Secretary of State John Kerry appeared on NBC Sunday morning to say, with no obvious irony, “You just don’t invade another country on phony pretext in order to assert your interests … This is an act of aggression that is completely trumped up in terms of its pretext. It’s really 19th century behavior in the 21st century. http://www.salon.com/2014/03/03/just_...rrys_stunning_hypocrisy_over_ukraine/

Despite the fact that we invaded Iraq( wmds) , Afghanistan (AQ), Yemen (AQAP) and really tried our damnedest to invade Syria. Kerry wins the hypocrite award this week.

What else would you call a capitalist country that's being democratically governed ?

the US is a democratic republic and it is not truly capitalist structure because of heavy government regulation in a lot of industry not to mention the government actually OWNS certain business - example being the US Post Office.

What we have is a melting pot of corruption, greed and intolerance and despite being the blackest pot of them all we like to self righteously point at the kettle. all of that said, people on this site in the USA take the worst beat of all not being able to play on pokerstars or full tilt.

On the definition of the word capitalism:

depends, what you mean by capitalism. The definition of the word has been so warped that its almost incomprehensible to use it. I guess capitalism is supposed to mean 'private ownership of the means of production' But leaders and intelectuals have been so indoctrinated to the point where most of them dont know what it means. It's like communism-i doubt stalin or many of the commisars knew what communism meant, because some marxian economists advocated trickle down theory(an earlier version to raegans), and i doubt the medieval church and its high priests knew what christian values were. And this was quite accurately pointed out by Dostoevsky who noted that if jesus came back to earth he would be persecuted by the grand inquisition for teaching christian values. Orwell quite accurately pointed it out that the idea of communism had become an ultimate hypocrisy in animal farm. There are many similar critics of capitalism who pointed out that alan greenspan didnt actually know what capitalism was when he pointed out about 10 inventions and called them the marvels of capitalism(when in fact 9 of those inventions were state subsidized, mostly developed in universities. They were things like the internet)

Same with the word democracy. That word has been so warped of meaning over the last 2500 years. If you go back to aristotle he said that democracy is probably the best system compared to tyranny and oligarchy. But he admitted that it had problems, because people would vote for land reform, and take all the land from the rich. So he advocated that there should be welfare for the poor, and make society more egalitarian so people wont want to vote for land reforms, which would definately cause some sort of violent war if people voted on that. Well, back then the idea of democracy really meant voting on anything. Nowdays you have an extremely confined amount of choice, particularly on economic issues. And your choice is between representatives, rather than electing your own delegates. And this was pointed out by early anarchist thinkers like proudhon who noted that 9/10 representatives you vote for are already scheming something terrible. Now in a delegative democracy, which imo is what a real democracy should be, you get togethor and discuss political ideas then elect a delagate to implement them. And if they dont implement them they get fired from their job. So if america was a delagative democracy obama would get sacked from the job of president if he didnt implement the political policies which the people came up with. In a representative democracy, you choose between 10 people and 9 of them are already scheming to betray you like the anarchists talked about. Also, the main function of a democracy for the last 100 years is for private owned propaganda to get people to think irrationally and to want to vote for policies which will harm them.

So yes, i would say that all so called western 'capitalist democracies' are actually 'state-capitalist plutocracies' give or take a bit.

Anyway, back to the main topic

Well i would say that the main shit that pisses me off is that our country has good freedom of speech laws, and we use this freedom of speech to get the stupidest people in the country to speak to the largest number of people.

I'd say this mark twain quote sums it up nicely "It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either."

Nah they just have a daily quota to refuse visas at the embassy, standard bureaucratic shit. Visas to the USA should be off somewhere in the upcoming years anyway - EU gives em pressure and its not like a couple of thousand bulgarians/romanians will change anything to worse there

Back to the hypocrisy : Up to a few days ago it was illegal for me to bet on any sports betting site, but was legal to bet into the monopolist bulgarian sports bettor which gives the most retarded odds the world has ever seen
