How many 2pairs can he have with the action pre? Seems like close to none which makes his entire value range beat us no? |

Is is Prima?
If so you are against set or str8 like 99.9% of the time. |

As long as you clicked a button that says raise, its hard to go wrong here. Takes a very specific situation + read for you to find a fold here vs utg (not utg +1) |

i think one of the biggest mistakes of new players is that they give too much people credit when the bet/raise. they assume the worse when they hear raise and out of instincts fold out of fear. my theory of the human brain, is no one feels comfortable getting all the money in without the stone cold nuts thus new players make a lot of tight and incorrect folds.
anywho, enough jibber jabber, its a min raise. could be a feeler raise, a pot control raise from river bets, he could think he has the best hand with a slow played QQ JJ 10 10 even go full retard with Q9. call on turn and see river seems most profitable. if by chance they are decent players they probably will get away from 1 pair hands if raised. only risk is the backdoor hearts or some gutshot.
if we wanted to look at this from a math perspective. the odds of set over set (1 in 49? - 1/7 x 1/7). 2 percent chance, then its a cooler and you lose your stack, thats poker. your gona instinctly have bad feelings going all in without the nuts remember? but you still gotta look at it from a logical point of view. |
