Is this guy for real?
I don't know. He's had some impressive victories and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching TUF 17 it is literally the only show where I count down the hours until I can watch it. The only thing that worries me is that I don't know if he's mentally tough enough to be a contender. Also, he has beaten 3 cans, though impressively.
People are saying that he's a contender for 185. TUF is about who has the ability to be in the UFC not who is a contender, especially when you have AS up there. His grappling game as far as I can tell is non existent. I also have no idea how he will fight once he is in trouble. Albeit I still can't wait to see him fight. |

He's good, but we don't know how good he is vs. wrestlers, aside from his TKO loss to Chris Weidman early in his career.
As for his last fight on TUF that I just watched an hour ago:
+ Show Spoiler +
Lackluster.
Andrews looked like he didn't want to be there, and barely threw any punches. You could totally tell that Hall wasn't going hard on Andrews, as round one seemed like a sparring session from Hall and then he slowed down in round two and was jabbing Andrews to death for the first half.
If Hall doesn't get the finish in round 1, Kelvin Gastelum has a chance to grind out a decision. I'll be live betting this fight.

Dylan took a jab early in the first round which messed his right eye up a little bit, and I think he got scared of Hall's power. Also, it looked like he had his nose broken as well early. I really liked Dylan I was hoping he would be more aggressive then what he was.
I really like Kelvin. I agree I think if Kelvin can get him on his back the whole fights complexion will change. However, I think Kelvin needs to be more aggressive on the ground than what I've seen so far. It looks to me he had ample amounts of chances to land elbows and bunches to the body or face and just chose not to do it. A part of me wanted Josh to win because it just seemed Josh chose fights to evade Uriah and weaseled his way into a contract, which I don't respect.
I also really wanted to see Hester fight again. The guy I believe is on par in power with Uriah. He was doing some serious damage to Jimmy from the bottom. I hated that Bubba and who was it, King? got the wildcard I was really hoping it would have been Hester. I really don't like that Dana gambled and went with those matchups in the hopes that Josh and Uriah would advance. I think the final would have been the same, but Josh vs Uriah would have been so much more fun to watch. |

weidman KOed him from standing.
hes ok, but no future world champion or contender. 185 is really bad though so he may be able to crack the top 10 given guys like consta phillipou are there. will lose vs tough aggressive fighters. |

do you really need a new thread to talk about one guy?
why not just post it on the MMA news thread? |

he s so freaking fast its unbelievable, the second someone even tries to touch him he just instantly unleashes his jab, hits and goes back in guard before his opponent even has the chance to react
it feels a bit unfair that he is even in the show, he s much more capable than anyone in there
im guessing Kelvin will take some knee or jab while trying to get him down and will get TKOed |

I've often wondered why the hell there's a new thread for EVERY FUCKING MMA EVENT
I've considered making a thread about every goddamned montreal canadiens hockey game, just to drive the point home |

Every MMA event is unique, which is why they deserve their own individual thread. Every other piece of MMA related content is posted in the "MMA News Thread."
If you want to post individual threads about Montreal Canadien games, go for it. If there's enough interest, you will have people posting in your threads and you will then know it's worth your time and effort to continue making them.
It's better to contribute to this community instead of crying about what you don't like in one section of the entire website. |

I hear ya. Like you said, some people definitely enjoy all the new mma threads - so go nuts.
As someone who isn't all that into mma, I just don't understand how each and every event warrants it's own thread. Like I said, could easily just be my ignorant opinion due to my lack of knowledge into the sport.
Essentially, also like you said, this is just me crying heh. To clarify - it's not like it's all that hard to *not* click on the masses of individual mma threads, I just really don't 'get' it.
Ignorant crying rant over. In other news, Canadian fighter died over the weekend in an unregulated mma fight in Michigan. |

I just don't understand the odds that Weidman Silva opened at relative to what I perceive to be public opinion. I was ready to throw a decent bet on Weidman at +350 but than it opens at like +210 and I'm shocked..... hope it moves closer to the former because I really think Weidman has a good shot... |
