So I've played cash games quite a bit, but I'm really trying to get more serious about it and improve my game. Anyways, I played in this 20NL home game and was doing fairly well up until this hand where I lost my stack. Me and villain both had over 200BBs. I've seen villain lead out in pots with bottom pair on flop, min re raise with bottom or middle pair on flop, pretty much just had a crazy image. The table was 5 handed.

Hero AKo raise .70
I believe everyone called.
K-8-x with two spades.
I bet $2, fold, villain makes it $5, fold, fold, I make it $15 and villain calls.
Q on turn.
I check and villain bets $20. I re raise all in and villain calls and shows AA.
2 on river.

How could I have played this hand differently?

$2 kinda low on flop with 5 callers. $3.50 pot. should be 2.5+

bet 3 dollars on the flop. jam turn.

everytime i play live, ppl usually only raise with the nuts. i don't think i could get away from this hand, but i wouldn't have raised the flop to check the turn. as a matter of fact, you prob should never make this play against the opponents you are playing.

against fish, i wouldn't mind calling the flop raise and leading non spade turns. i wouldn't read to much into villain's raise and just think he was clicking buttons, and wouldn't trust him to continue betting the turn.

either way, all my monies are prob getting into the pot this hand.

getting the money in by c/r a Q turn looks a lot stronger than bet/calling, and makes villains range tighter I think.

Betting turn is way better

did you have the As ?

with the As i would flat his flop raise and probably ch/fold turn, unless a spade hits in which case i would ch/call turn.

without the As i would call his flop raise, ch/call turn and probably ch/fold river.

there are no facts only interpretations
