I love how they present Crassus - it finally looks like there is an decent villain. That scene in the first episode where he fights off his gladiator-slave and offers him freedom if he can kill him was good.

I like how they're blurring the line between good guy and bad guy. If you just starting watching now and didn't know the title of the show you might think that Crassus was the hero.

Is this the final season? Showing Spartacus as an oppressor instead of 100% good guy is sort of raising the death flag here.

He wasnt shown as an opressor rather than a realistic human just like crassus

What's Caesar doing in these episodes? Never heard of him being involved w/ any of the Spartacus history before. Also he wasn't nearly as much as a degen as he's being portrayed as at this age. I guess it's all apart of the dramatization.

I'm bad in history, but I know Crassus was closely related to Caesar - he was his patron and sponsor. Don't know if Caesar participated in any battle against Spartacus' rebels tho

crassus was the richest man in roman history. When he died molten gold was poured down his throat to symbolize his insatiable greed.

Caesar def wasn't involved in the Spartacus stuff, can't remember what he was doing at the time though (lose track of my history post-Sulla pre 59bc). Probably still in the army in Greece?

Pompey had some awesome involvement though, would love to see them play that out between the triumvirate.
