Game is pretty decent with mostly casual players. Table is about 9 handed. Game is pretty much 4-5 way limping and calling.

everyone else folds except villain
Villain is a calling station / fish and has been seeing flops to the rivers. Frequently pays off with 2nd pair or top pair and weak kicker.

pot: 60$
hero bets 40$
villain calls 40$
pot is now 140$
villain has 90$ behind
river: Ah Qd 5h 8s 2h
hero: ??? check / fold? or shove?

I wouldn't have said it as harshly as this individual but reading this i cringed when you said you limped A,Qo. Raise preflop. If he is that much of a calling station he may call this raise anyways. |

Well, you cant do anything else. If you check he will shove and you have to call anyway. You are just losing value from all worse hands like Ax-2pair-mid pair that def check behind.

lol, maybe say 90 and don't say all in ... only thing i can add to this cuz i think its a river you are mostly getting folds from everything but a flush but also seems silly to check and let it get to showdown. i guess u could c/f.
