Game is pretty decent with mostly casual players. Table is about 9 handed. Game is pretty much 4-5 way limping and calling.

my stack was around 550 and dwindled after losing 2 pots back to back.. will post after this thread.

4 way action -

Small blind - calls 4$
Hero seat 3- UTG - call 4$ with Ah 5h
Villain button - raises to 14$ with 200$

All three are in the pot = 42$

kh jh 5s

small blind - donks 14$
hero - calls
villain - calls

pot = 84$

kh jh 5s qd

small blind - bets 16$
hero - calls
villain - raises 48$ to 64$

pot is now 180$ villain has around 100$ behind

small blind - fold
hero - ??

is this a shove / fold? would you ever just call?

Call, you easily have pot odds let alone implied, and openshove the hit. Raise flop.

call - this is either a shove or call - NEVER fold, that's a distant third option

I am not sure how others would have played it but. I think I may have tried to raise the flop. Depending on when you were on a losing streak your raise could be regarded as tilting. I of course say raise knowing no information of the villains so i would make this decision with a bit more information but I like the idea of a raise. I think raising hides your draw fairly well. Depending on the villains i like the decision to be aggressive with this.

how would you rate raising on the flop knowing that villain most likely had AK or better? Would shoving > calling on turn if you don't think villain will pay off on river when you hit?

fold preflop. i never overcall suited aces from oop against a raise after completing.

raise the $14 donk lead, if you call, you put yourself in a position where you can't win the hand unless you get there and when you do get there you generally don't get paid.

also, i know when you just flat the 14 you can potentially let the original raiser in with weaker draws but there are just too few of those to be concerned about in this spot and way more stuff like AJ that you want to push out of the pot that will definitely fold vs the action if you raise the weak lead.

Uhhhh, yeah? Lol. Your range is gonna be capped after just calling the first raise.

Just a question, What does it mean when a range is capped? Does it mean that it can't be a certain top % of hands?

i agree with you 99% of the time, but this game is 1/1/2 live pokerz, i am calling any 2 suited that can make a straight. they are playing far from ideal whether you can get to sd cheaply, or vbet 3rd pair against them on 2 streets.
