I'm leaning towards Skylar flipping on Walt.
Something obviously happens as Walt isn't wearing his wedding ring in the first episode, looks dishevelled, is taking his pills again and has a fake ID all while buying a big ass gun that "won't leave" the town. I think Skylar will come clean to Marie/Hank and the deal with the new guys goes bad. With his wife gone and the cancer returned Walt will try to secure his families future by robbing/seeking revenge on the new guys or die trying (possibly for the insurance).

Nah he aint gonna kill his wife. He's going to get into a car chase in the desert and drive off a cliff into the grand canyon.
How is this (Mike's death) related to our specific discussion (Killing Skyler)?
'cause it was no benefit to Walt to kill Mike, you talked about benefits when killing somebody.
And with everything else, i understand you point of view and agree at some level, but obv. is not real life, writters could make whatever they want, and if they want Walt running a Laser Tag business now and hiring a new character to run the accounting, they will just do it, doesn't matter if makes sense or no (not saying that would be Ok, but its a possibility)

anyone else think it's really bad that he's teaching that new kid how to cook? seems like something will develop there. Aslo, wtf, walt finally going on tilt in this episode making the worst irrational decision ever killing Mike. I'm sure he's just gonna dispose of the body and just tell the other guys that he got Mike the go-bag and that he's gone and they will just never question it. Just another secret. Also, they never ever talk about how many lives cooking meth ruins from an ethical standpoint. Just funny that Jesse's reason for quitting is people keep dying, but nothing to do with the product they're selling. Ok, /end rant. So one more episode then a break? then 9 more? I haven't really been following how many episodes there will be, just that this is the last one.

good episode, jolly good show.
how is it possible for the DEA not to have found out that heisenberg is walt. It doesn't show them investigating where that giant magnet came from, and walt+jesse bought that magnet with witnesses that would be found, arrested and flipped. It's also kind of interesting how the show very rarely touches on a how this meth organization this big works, how heisenberg conceals his identity from everyone else in the meth business, which would be essential to keep the DEA from finding out he is in charge.

Won't be surprised if Todd learns to cook in a really short amount of time and eventually usurps Walt. He's a real go getter.

An entire family walk into their homes that they know is being poisoned? And be able to come to the conclusion that this is a meth lab
and not standard procedure?
It'd be an interesting thing to see happen just to add tension but it won't really go extraordinarily bad.

made nooooo sense to kill mike what so ever. FUCK U AMC.
edit. So far they've been good at everyturn, and even though some decisions that walt has made hasn't been what i expected but they have always made some logical consistency with in the show. But this makes no fucking sense.. Mike had no reason to flip on walt he just wanted to be gone for good, and mike cant flip if he is dead.. So the only move is to capture and torture mike for the names (other than remembering about lydia).
Maybe that was the shows intention? He never wanted to shoot to kill, he was aiming pretty low. And when mike sat there giving up instead of begging for mercy I think maybe would just realised torture was never going to work..

Walt wanted the names but he didn't shoot Mike because of that; he shot Mike because he was mad.

Walt didnt kill mike because he was going to flip, he just killed him because he was angry about what mike said and 'cause he was not going to give the names... or like you said didnt shoot to kill but when he was talking to him he realised he could ask lydia.

Keep in mind this is the last season, so whatever dramatic climax has to come is going to come real quick. It wouldnt make sense for walt to die or kill his family or commit suicide or whatever the fuck with 1-2 episodes left, so they have to build his rage quickly and allow him to evolve to that point within a believable time frame. These little homicidal instances are just building the pressure for when he ultimately blows a gasket.
bye now
