Yo, we need a thread that has a bunch of music conducive to studying. This will vary by personal taste, of course, but I'd like to suggest a few guidelines for what's posted here:
1. Minimal lyrical content (doesn't have to be zero but of minimal complexity)
2. Below 120 beats per minute
You don't have to strictly adhere to the above if you've got something you really think fits for studying! And its nice to have a few faster-paced or semi-wordy songs in a studying playlist to break any monotony and bring the heart rate back up~
Here's the first site that google pulled up when I searched 'youtube to mp3'. Any better ones out there? http://www.listentoyoutube.com/
I've recently really enjoyed studying to chillstep.
(most intense song here but it gets me mentally started again... holy shit there is SO much more bass listening to it on my computer headphones and my junky earbuds..)
I typically find classical music to be extremely overwhelming and not appropriate for studying, but I'm definitely open to some suggestions.
i really can't study at all with like 99.9% of music, probably the best thing for me would be one of those recordings of ocean sounds or birds and shit. never heard of chillstep before but i really like 2nd and 3rd songs, dunno if i could listen to them while studying though.
i could probably get by with something light and non-obtrusive like one of the Chopin nocturnes. actually anything on the light side for solo piano might be ok.
The ones I have used the most are Biosphere's 'Substrata' and Vladislav Delay's 'Entain'. Cannot recommend them highly enough. They just seem so perfect for the purpose. When the first one starts around 40 secs it always gives me chills before I can refocus though:

lol at listening to dubstep
Dubstep is not just skrillex despite what america would have you believe.
OP try out mt eden or any of the rest of blackmills songs if u are liking "chillstep"
netsky is also v nice and chill but a bit more DnB rather than dubstep
Good link. I actually really hate that Skrillex has become a figurehead that represents dubstep. I think the guy sucks and doesn't really portray the music very well at all. All the people immediately associate him with the whole genre.

Why not use Spotify / (pandora) or other streaming services instead of Youtube?
They aren't accessible to everyone. Grooveshark is the only decent one I can use.
