S1E1 is pretty good, but it takes a 90 degree downfall into shitsville after that.
They fired the previous director though half way through season 2 and it's showed hope since then.
During season 2 they only had like a 2 million per ep budget, despite the show breaking all kinds of records. Hopefully a new director plus the continued record breaking ratings will lead to a better show with a better budget.
For the most part though the show has been watchable only for the reason to make fun of how absurdly bad it got. Like I said though, 2nd half of season 2 started to show hope that it's going to get better.

it has its moments. but in between those moments is lots of shit. worth continuing if you already invested the first 2 seasons, but not a must watch

A lot of people said they liked season 1, I thought it needed much more action than what was shown.
I liked season 2, even though there was some dull moments. The last 5 episodes got real good, and showed what season 3 will be like. Season 3 is supposed to have more action.
I'd suggest watching "The Talking Dead" episodes after each episode of The Walking Dead. There's always actors/writers/producers from the show talking about what happened, why it happened, and what might happen down the line, as well as a sneak peak clip for the following weeks episode.
Also, DISH Network has dropped AMC, so you wont be able to watch The Walking Dead under that service.

I think people like it more for the potential but even that makes it one of my favororite shows. That trailor looked awsome and seemed more strategic like the comics clearing out zombies and what not a I think I shed a tear. Im sure they can do alot more with their budget with a prison being inside then a farm.

It's not that there isn't enough action, its that the drama is really, really, really bad family shit drama.

They are 2 totally different stories. They are similar in some ways but so much different in others that I don't think you can really compare the 2. If you look at them completely seperate of each other the show is way more enjoyable. Plus that comic is dark, and Rick in the comic is just way to badass for tv.

Walking Dead was cool due to its purity, its no frills "realism". The show was portrayed as realistic. Now they got this damn ninja lady with pet zombies and shit? Fuck that.

That lady is in the comics. I actually downloaded the comics and read them and they are fucking good. The comics are much more grim and dark and less gay like the show.
